Q: Is the Medallion Tote available in different sizes?
A: The Medallion Tote was produced in a single, standard size. Typical measurements are around 30 × 24 × 15 cm with an approx. 15 cm handle drop, which matches this piece’s measurements on this page.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: It comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, small cosmetic pouch, keys, sunglasses, and an A5 diary or tablet. Because of the structured sides and zipped top, it is best suited to compact items rather than bulky folders.

Q: Will it fit an A4 document or a 13-inch laptop?
A: Slim A4 sheets or folders and an 11-inch tablet generally fit more easily. A 13-inch laptop is usually too large or awkward due to the structured body and the curved zip opening. If you plan to carry tech, please compare your device’s measurements with the bag’s and we can test the fit for this exact item on request.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes, many wearers carry the Medallion Tote on the shoulder, though it sits quite high. The dual rolled handles and approx. 15 cm drop also make it comfortable in the crook of the arm or by hand. Over thicker coats it may feel snug.

Q: Is the Medallion Tote discontinued?
A: Yes. The style was introduced in the early 2000s and was phased out around 2013. Today it is available on the pre‑owned market only, which is why this piece is described as vintage.

Q: What does the serial number 6731351 indicate?
A: This is a 7‑digit, 6‑series Chanel code that dates the bag to the early 2000s production period. Serial numbers indicate a timeframe rather than an exact month or model, and are considered alongside stamps, materials and construction during authentication.

Q: What is the leather and how does it wear?
A: It is crafted from Chanel’s caviar leather, a grained, durable calfskin that holds its structure well and is known for resisting scuffs better than smoother leathers. To care for it, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth, avoid harsh cleaners and prolonged sunlight, and store stuffed in a breathable dust bag to maintain shape.

Q: How secure and practical is the interior layout?
A: The top zip closure is secure and finished with the signature CC medallion pull. Inside you will find a zipped pocket and a slip pocket for small items, and there is an exterior slip pocket for quick‑access essentials.

Q: What is included with this specific item?
A: Please see the product information on this page. For this piece, the product information lists a dust bag, authenticity card and serial number tag.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi‑point inspection by in‑house experts, including checks of materials, stitching, logos, stamps, hardware, and the serial number. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and can share additional photos or details on request.
