ChanelMini Classic Full Flap Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Mini Classic Full Flap Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 19 x 12 x 5 cm, this mini size is best for essentials such as a phone, card holder, keys, lipstick and other small daily items. It is a compact style rather than a roomy everyday bag, so larger purses, tablets and bulky items are unlikely to fit comfortably.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This bag features a single chain-link and leather shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 38 cm. It is designed primarily for shoulder wear. Depending on your height and styling preference, the fit may vary, so we recommend referring to the listed measurements for the best guide.

Q: What material is this bag made from?
A: This piece is crafted from black quilted lambskin leather with gold-tone hardware and a burgundy leather lining. Lambskin is prized for its soft, smooth and luxurious finish, though it is generally more delicate than grained leathers and benefits from careful handling.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. The exterior shows light traces of use and light scratches in the leather material, the interior also shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As this is a vintage item, gentle signs of wear are normal and part of its character.

Q: Does this item include any product information?
A: Yes, this bag includes a serial number tag. If any other item is not listed under the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What does the serial number indicate?
A: The serial number is noted as 4******, which places production in the 1996 to 1997 period according to commonly used Chanel serial number references. As with many vintage Chanel bags, the serial helps indicate the production era rather than an exact production date.

Q: Is the burgundy interior typical for vintage Chanel bags?
A: Yes, burgundy leather lining is a well-known detail seen on many vintage Chanel flap bags, especially from earlier production periods. On this item, the burgundy leather interior complements the black lambskin exterior and includes one internal pocket.

Q: How should I care for vintage lambskin leather?
A: Lambskin should be handled gently to help minimise scratches and surface wear. Store the bag away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity, avoid overfilling it, and keep it lightly stuffed when not in use to help maintain its shape. A soft, dry cloth is usually best for light surface dust.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Chanel bag like this?
A: When assessing vintage Chanel bags, experts typically review the serial details, leather quality, quilting, hardware, lining, construction and overall consistency of the piece. At A Retro Tale, authenticity is taken seriously and each item is checked before being offered for sale.
