Q: What typically fits inside the Small La Parisienne Flap Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 20 × 15 × 9 cm, it comfortably holds a smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick, and small essentials like hand sanitiser. A slim continental wallet up to about 19 cm can fit horizontally; thicker zip-around styles may be snug. For best results, avoid overfilling to preserve the bag’s structure.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The chain-and-leather shoulder strap has an approximate drop of 55 cm, which suits shoulder wear and a higher-sitting crossbody on many frames. The top handle (about 8 cm drop) is ideal for hand carry. Crossbody drop can vary by height and torso length.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or detachable?
A: The strap is typically a fixed-length chain-and-leather design and is not adjustable. Some versions include a leather shoulder pad for comfort. Please review the photos in the product information to confirm the exact strap details for this piece.

Q: What does the serial number 29883399 indicate?
A: Chanel 29-series serial numbers correspond to the 2020 production window. Chanel transitioned from serial stickers to microchips in 2021, so a 29-series sticker is consistent with a late 2019–2020 era piece.

Q: How does the La Parisienne differ from the Classic Flap?
A: La Parisienne is a seasonal top-handle flap with a structured silhouette and single flap, designed around the 2019–2020 collections. The Classic Flap (11.12) traditionally has no top handle and a double-flap construction. Capacity is similar to a small Classic Flap, with added hand-carry versatility thanks to the top handle.

Q: What are the interior features of this bag?
A: This specific piece has metallic gold leather lining with one internal zipped pocket and a main compartment sized for everyday essentials. The closure is the signature CC turn-lock.

Q: What inclusions come with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section. If an item (such as a dust bag or authenticity card) is not listed or pictured there, it is not included. This piece includes its serial number as noted.

Q: How should I care for the quilted leather and hardware?
A: Store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Wipe the leather gently with a soft, dry cloth and use a pH-neutral conditioner sparingly. Avoid contact with dark denim and abrasive surfaces to minimise colour transfer and scratches. Clean hardware with a microfiber cloth to reduce micro-scratches.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: This bag is stamped Made in Italy, consistent with Chanel’s production across France and Italy.

Q: How is authenticity verified at A Retro Tale?
A: Every item is vetted using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and serial numbers, with specialist verification when needed. A Retro Tale guarantees the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional details upon request.
