Q: What are the dimensions and how can I carry it?
A: Approximate measurements are 25 cm (H) × 33 cm (W) × 9 cm (D) with a handle drop of 8 cm and a detachable shoulder strap with a 47 cm drop. Carry by the top handle for a polished look or use the strap for hands-free wear.

Q: What typically fits inside this Elsie?
A: Daily essentials such as a smartphone, long wallet, keys, small make-up pouch and sunglasses fit comfortably. It also accommodates a tablet up to about 11 inches. Most 13-inch laptops are not recommended due to the structured flap and depth.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody?
A: The detachable strap has an approx. 47 cm drop, which is ideal for shoulder carry and gives a higher crossbody fit on some builds. Please compare the drop to your preferred wearing height before purchase.

Q: What closure does the Elsie use?
A: It features Chloé’s signature Elsie turn-lock with a floral-inspired motif. Twist to open and close; it is quick to operate while keeping the flap securely shut when aligned.

Q: How is the interior organised?

Q: Where was this particular bag made?
A: Hungary. Production location can vary across Chloé collections and seasons; the origin stated here refers to this specific piece.

Q: How should I care for the grained leather and hardware?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use; keep away from moisture, oils and colour transfer from dark fabrics. Condition sparingly with a leather cream suitable for smooth/grained calf leather, testing first on a hidden area. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid prolonged sun or heat exposure to protect the leather and gold-tone finish.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by in-house experts with over 10 years’ experience, using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware and brand markings. We also use a trusted third-party authentication tool for added assurance.
