Q: What fits inside the Fendi Wool Mamma Bag (Large)?
A: As a larger shoulder style, it typically carries daily essentials with ease: smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), continental wallet or compact wallet, keys, slim sunglasses case, small cosmetics pouch, A5 notebook/diary, and a small water bottle. Capacity can vary slightly by production year—please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us for tailored fit advice for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: Most standard tablets fit comfortably; slim 11–12‑inch devices may fit depending on case thickness. Full‑size 13‑inch laptops are generally a squeeze and not recommended for regular carry. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements listed or ask us to perform a quick fit check for this specific bag.

Q: Is the strap adjustable, and can I wear it crossbody?
A: Many Mamma bags feature a single shoulder strap with buckle holes for light adjustability, designed for hand or shoulder carry. They are not intended for crossbody wear. We’ll list the strap/handle drop under Measurements—if it’s missing, just ask and we’ll measure it for you.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: Mamma bags typically have a flap with a magnetic snap or button for everyday security. Interiors often include a main compartment with a zipped pocket and slip pockets for small items. Exact layout can vary by era and edition—please review our photos and description for the configuration of this piece.

Q: What materials is this Wool Mamma Bag made from?
A: This edition commonly features a wool or wool‑blend exterior, leather trim, textile lining and gold‑tone or silver‑tone hardware. Wool offers a soft, tactile finish with a cosy look, while leather/canvas versions are generally more wipeable. Our listing specifies the exact materials and hardware finish for this item.

Q: How should I care for the wool exterior?
A: Keep the bag away from rain, oils and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim. After use, gently brush the wool with a soft garment brush and remove lint with a fabric roller. Spot‑clean only with a wool‑safe solution (test first on an inconspicuous area) and avoid soaking. Store the bag lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag; consider cedar or lavender sachets to discourage moths. Do not overfill to preserve its shape.

Q: Is wool prone to pilling, and how can I manage it?
A: Light pilling can occur with friction. Use a quality fabric comb or an electric fabric shaver on the lowest setting and work gently in one direction, testing first on a discreet area. Minimising contact with rough surfaces and avoiding overstuffing helps reduce friction and future pilling.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Fendi bags typically feature “FENDI” and “Made in Italy” markings inside, along with branded hardware. Depending on the era, you may find a fabric or leather tag with a serial number, a hologram/production label, or an embedded microchip in more recent pieces. Placement and format vary—contact us if you’d like close‑up photos and help dating this exact bag.

Q: Is the Mamma Bag still produced?
A: The Mamma (larger Baguette‑style shoulder bag) is primarily associated with earlier collections and seasonal re‑issues. Availability in boutiques can be limited and varies by season; the pre‑loved market is the best way to find specific materials like wool.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Any included items (e.g., dust bag, box) are listed under “Accessories.” If something isn’t mentioned there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial/hologram/microchip and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
