Q: What typically fits inside the Goyard Hirondelle Bag?
A: The Hirondelle (approx. 25 × 16.5 × 7 cm) is a compact half-moon bag designed for daily essentials. It comfortably holds a large smartphone, a cardholder or compact wallet, keys, and small cosmetics like lipstick or hand sanitiser. Due to its streamlined shape and single-compartment interior, it is not suited for large items like tablets or continental wallets.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes, the leather strap features multiple adjustment holes (typically 8), allowing you to customise the drop. It is designed to be worn comfortably on the shoulder or as a high crossbody bag, sitting close to the body for a modern, secure fit. Please refer to the Measurements section for the specific strap drop of this piece.

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: The Hirondelle features a minimalist interior lined in Goyard’s signature yellow cotton fabric. To maximise space and maintain its sleek profile, it consists of one main compartment with no internal slip or zip pockets. The bag closes with a secure top zip to keep your belongings safe.

Q: What materials is this bag made from?
A: This model is crafted from Goyardine canvas—the Maison’s iconic coated fabric known for its durability and water resistance—trimmed with Chevroches calfskin leather. The hardware is typically silver-tone (palladium finish), adding a refined touch to the classic pattern.

Q: What is the history of the Hirondelle model?
A: Released around 2024, the Hirondelle is a relatively new addition to Goyard’s lineup. Its name and half-moon silhouette are inspired by the "hirondelle" (swallow), a traditional knife used by leather craftsmen. It blends the brand’s artisanal heritage with a contemporary, on-trend shape.

Q: How should I care for the Goyardine canvas?
A: Goyardine is robust and low-maintenance. Clean it by wiping gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Avoid using solvents, alcohol, or rubbing the pattern abrasively. For the leather trim, we recommend using a high-quality neutral leather conditioner sparingly. Store the bag upright in its dust bag, away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat.

Q: Does this bag come with a dust bag or other accessories?
A: Everything included with this specific item is listed under the "Accessories" section on this page (e.g., shopping bag, dust bag, receipt). If an item is not mentioned there, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts. We perform multi-point checks on materials, stitching, hardware, the distinct hand-painted effect of the Goyardine print, and overall construction to ensure authenticity. We stand behind the genuineness of all items we sell.
