Q: What collection and year is the Louis Vuitton Cruise Bulles MM from?
A: The Bulles MM is a limited-edition shoulder bag from Louis Vuitton’s Cruise collections around 2009–2010, noted for its nautical-inspired rope strap and monogram nylon body.

Q: What are the key materials and features of this bag?
A: It is crafted in textured monogram nylon with tan vachetta leather trim and gold-tone hardware. It features a single rope shoulder strap with a leather shoulder pad, a drawstring closure, a textile-lined interior, and an internal zipped pocket.

Q: How much does it hold?
A: With approximate measurements of 41 × 29 × 15 cm, it comfortably fits daily essentials such as a large wallet, phone, keys, make-up pouch, small water bottle, and a tablet. Packing capacity varies by organiser use and how tightly you cinch the drawstring—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or suitable for crossbody wear?
A: The Bulles MM has a single fixed shoulder strap and is designed to be worn on the shoulder. The shoulder drop on this piece is approximately 20 cm; it is not adjustable and not intended for crossbody wear.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag uses a drawstring to cinch the top and includes an interior zipped pocket for valuables. As with most open-top hobos, we recommend using small pouches for extra organisation and security when needed.

Q: How should I care for the vachetta leather, nylon body, and rope strap?
A: Keep vachetta away from water, oils, and prolonged sunlight to minimise darkening and watermarks. For light cleaning, gently wipe vachetta with a slightly damp, soft cloth and allow it to air-dry away from heat; always test any leather cleaner on a hidden area first. The nylon exterior can be wiped with a soft cloth lightly dampened with distilled water; avoid harsh chemicals. For the rope strap, spot-clean gently and let it dry fully before storage. When not in use, store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag to help maintain its shape.

Q: What does the date code RC3099 indicate?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes from this era use letters for the factory and four digits for production timing. RC3099 decodes to the 39th week of 2009, aligning with this model’s Cruise 2009–2010 release window. Note that date codes support dating but are not, on their own, proof of authenticity.

Q: Is this considered vintage?
A: Yes. At over a decade old and from a past Cruise collection, the Bulles MM is considered a vintage, limited-edition piece, which contributes to its collectability.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section for this specific piece. For this item, the product information notes a dust bag and brand booklets.

A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional details on request.
