Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Vernis Cosmetic Pouch?
A: With measurements of 18 × 12 × 7 cm, it is best suited to everyday beauty essentials such as lipsticks, a compact, travel-size make-up, brushes, hair ties and small skincare items. It is a compact organiser rather than a full-size wash bag.

Q: Can this pouch be used for more than make-up?
A: Yes. Many people use a cosmetic pouch like this inside a larger bag to organise small essentials such as cards, cables, hand cream or touch-up items. It can also work as a small day-to-evening pouch, although it is primarily designed for cosmetics and compact essentials.

Q: What is Vernis leather?
A: Vernis is Louis Vuitton’s glossy patent calf leather embossed with the Monogram pattern. It gives the pouch a polished, reflective finish and a more dressed-up look than classic canvas styles.

Q: Is Vernis leather durable?
A: Vernis is generally more resistant to light surface scratching than untreated smooth leather, but it can still show wear over time. The material is especially known for being sensitive to colour transfer, pressure marks and heat-related ageing if stored poorly.

Q: How should I care for Vernis leather?
A: Keep it away from dark denim, printed paper, other highly pigmented materials and direct sunlight. Store it lightly stuffed in a cool, ventilated space, and wipe the surface gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, solvents and overpacking.

Q: Can Vernis become sticky or discoloured with age?
A: It can. As with many patent finishes, vintage Vernis may develop stickiness, dullness or discolouration if exposed to heat, humidity or long-term improper storage. Careful storage helps reduce the risk.

Q: What is the condition of this specific pouch?
A: This piece is listed in very good vintage condition. The corners are slightly scuffed, the lining has stains, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos as well for the best overall impression.

Q: Does this item come with any additional pieces?
A: No additional items are included with this pouch. If a box, dust bag or other extras are not mentioned in the product information, they are not included with the sale.

Q: Is this a good travel pouch?
A: Yes, for compact travel essentials. It is ideal for make-up touch-ups, small skincare items and handbag organisation, but the size is better for shorter trips or daily use than for carrying a full toiletry set.

Q: How do you check authenticity?
A: A Retro Tale specialises in authenticated luxury vintage pieces. This pouch has been assessed for details such as materials, construction, hardware and brand markings before being offered for sale.
