Q: What is the Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm Ref. 69174 (1993)?
A: It’s a vintage Lady‑Datejust featuring a 26mm stainless‑steel Oyster case, an 18ct white‑gold fluted bezel, a pink dial set with diamond hour markers, and a date at 3 o’clock under the Cyclops magnifier. This example is from 1993 and comes on a classic Jubilee bracelet with an automatic self‑winding movement.

Q: Which movement does this reference typically use, and is the date quickset?
A: Most early‑1990s Ref. 69174 models are powered by the automatic Rolex Calibre 2135 with a quickset date. Exact calibre can vary by individual watch; we’re happy to confirm the movement in this specific piece on request.

Q: How do I set the time and date safely?
A: Unscrew the crown anti‑clockwise. Position 1: wind the watch (about 20–30 turns if it has stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am to protect the mechanism. When finished, push the crown in and screw it down firmly to help maintain water resistance.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and suitable for swimming?
A: The Oyster case was originally rated to 100 metres, but water resistance on vintage watches cannot be guaranteed without recent gasket replacement and pressure testing. We recommend avoiding swimming or showering unless it has been freshly serviced and tested, and always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any exposure to moisture.

Q: Does this 1993 Lady‑Datejust have a sapphire crystal and Cyclops?
A: Most Lady‑Datejust models from this era are fitted with a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal and the Cyclops date magnifier. If you’d like us to verify the crystal type on this exact watch, please contact us.

Q: Will the Jubilee bracelet fit my wrist, and can it be resized?
A: As listed, it fits wrists up to approximately 16.25 cm. We can size the bracelet for you, and additional links can often be sourced subject to availability. If you prefer a strap, we can advise on compatible leather options for the 26mm Lady‑Datejust.

Q: What is the bezel made of and how should I care for it?
A: The fluted bezel is crafted from 18ct white gold. Clean gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive polishes or harsh chemicals. Professional polishing should be done sparingly to preserve the fluting’s crispness.

Q: What accuracy should I expect, and how often should it be serviced?
A: A healthy Lady‑Datejust should keep good time for its era, though performance varies with age and service history. A routine service every 5–10 years is generally recommended, or sooner if you notice running fast/slow, reduced power reserve, moisture, or if water resistance is important. Keep the watch away from strong magnets and extreme heat.

Q: How can I confirm the exact reference and production year?
A: The reference is typically stamped between the lugs at 12 o’clock and the serial at 6 o’clock (bracelet removal is required). Many early‑1990s pieces carry an “S”‑prefix serial, consistent with 1993. We can help verify these details and provide additional photos on request.
