ChanelCoco Mark Clip-on Earrings

Q: What does “Coco Mark” refer to on these earrings?
A: It refers to Chanel’s interlocking CC logo. On this vintage pair, the CC sits at the centre of a clover-shaped, gold‑tone design with a clip‑on back.

Q: Are these for pierced ears?
A: No. They have a clip‑on closure, so they can be worn with or without piercings. The clips are designed to hold the 3.5 cm statement fronts securely on the lobe.

Q: Will clip‑ons be comfortable and secure for all‑day wear?
A: Comfort varies by ear shape and sensitivity. If you’re new to clip‑ons, start with shorter wear times and add soft silicone or foam pads to cushion pressure. A professional jeweller can fine‑tune clip tension; do not force the hinge yourself to avoid damage.

Q: Are these solid gold?
A: No. Like most vintage Chanel costume jewellery, these are gold‑plated over base metal rather than solid gold. Many well‑documented vintage Chanel pieces are described by specialist dealers as 24k gold‑plated, but composition can vary by era and model.

Q: Are they nickel‑free or hypoallergenic?
A: Chanel does not publish detailed alloy compositions for vintage costume jewellery, so we cannot guarantee they are nickel‑free. If you have sensitivities, consider using silicone clip pads or applying a clear barrier product to reduce direct metal contact, and limit wear time.

Q: How should I care for gold‑plated Chanel earrings?
A: Wipe after each wear with a soft, dry cloth. For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water with a tiny drop of mild soap on a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive polishing cloths, ultrasonic cleaners, alcohol, perfume, lotions, and swimming or showering while wearing them. Store individually in a dry pouch or box to prevent scratches and premature wear of the plating.

Q: How are vintage Chanel earrings authenticated and dated?
A: Many have a small signature plaque or stamp on the back. On vintage pieces, details like an oval cartouche, the CHANEL mark, country stamp, and (on some eras) season numbers help indicate the production period. Our in‑house experts authenticate every item using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps, and workmanship, and we stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to pierced posts?
A: A skilled jeweller may be able to convert certain designs, but we do not offer this service and any permanent alteration could affect collectability and resale value. If you choose to proceed, consult a professional and keep the original findings.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. This listing is sold as photographed and does not include additional items unless explicitly stated there.

Q: How big or heavy do they feel on the ear?
A: Each earring measures approximately 3.5 × 3.5 cm with a depth of about 1 cm. Weight can vary slightly by vintage piece; if you prefer lighter wear, use comfort pads and limit wear time until you’re accustomed to the fit.
