Q: Are these suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature a clip‑on back and can be worn comfortably by those without ear piercings, as well as by pierced‑ear wearers who prefer clip‑ons.

Q: Are clip‑on earrings comfortable for all‑day wear?
A: Comfort varies by earlobe thickness and clip style. Start with shorter wear times, add soft silicone comfort pads to reduce pressure, and ensure the clips sit centred on the lobe. If discomfort persists, limit continuous wear and give the ears short breaks.

Q: Can the clip tension be adjusted?
A: Many clip‑on mechanisms can be fine‑tuned by a professional jeweller. Adding silicone or foam pads often improves comfort without altering the hardware. We do not recommend bending vintage clips yourself, as it can stress the hinge or plating.

Q: Are these solid gold?
A: They are gold‑tone costume jewellery, not solid gold. Gold‑tone pieces are typically plated over a base metal. To preserve the finish, avoid abrasives, moisture, perfumes, and lotions, and wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear.

Q: How should I care for vintage gold‑tone earrings?
A: Keep them dry; remove before showering, swimming, or exercising. Clean gently with diluted mild soap and water on a soft cloth if needed, then dry thoroughly. Store separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratches and minimise exposure to humidity and chemicals.

Q: What does the Cannage pattern refer to?
A: Cannage is a signature Dior motif inspired by the woven cane chairs used in the house’s early couture salons. It appears across Dior designs and accents the heart‑shaped surface on this pair.

Q: Do authentic vintage Dior earrings have signature marks?
A: Many genuine Dior costume pieces carry signatures such as “Chr. Dior” or “Christian Dior”, sometimes with a copyright symbol and year. Numerous vintage examples were produced in Germany by licensed makers and may include “Germany” markings. Check the reverse and the product photos for details.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to pierced posts?
A: Conversion is possible through a skilled jeweller, but it can affect collectability and the structural integrity of vintage pieces. If you choose to convert, consider keeping the original clip components safely stored.

Q: Are they hypoallergenic?
A: As with most vintage gold‑tone jewellery, the exact alloy content is not specified and may not be hypoallergenic. If you have sensitive skin, use comfort pads as a barrier, limit continuous wear, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: What size are they and what is included?
A: Approximate size is 2 cm high, 1.3 cm wide, and 1 cm deep. Everything included with the item is listed under the product information section; if an item is not listed there, it is not included.
