Q: Are these Georg Jensen Heritage Silver Clip‑on Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid sterling silver or silver‑plated?
A: Georg Jensen Heritage earrings are typically crafted in solid sterling silver (925). Authentic pieces commonly carry hallmarks such as “Georg Jensen”, “925 S” and “Denmark”. Please review the close‑up photos to see any stamps present on this pair and message us if you’d like us to confirm the exact composition.

Q: Are they clip‑on or for pierced ears? How comfortable are the clips?
A: This pair is clip‑on and suitable for non‑pierced ears. Clip tension can be adjusted by a professional jeweller, and many wearers use silicone comfort pads to reduce pressure. If you’d like us to check the current clip tension or suggest comfort pad options, just ask.

Q: What size are they and will they feel heavy?
A: The listed measurements are approximately 2.5 cm in height and 1.7 cm in width. If you need the approximate gram weight for comfort reference, contact us and we’ll measure it. Sensitivity to weight and clip pressure varies by wearer.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect on Georg Jensen sterling silver earrings?
A: Typical markings include “GEORG JENSEN”, “925 S” (sterling silver) and “DENMARK”, sometimes with a model number or designer initials depending on the era. Placement is often on the reverse or on the clip mechanism. Our photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: How should I care for sterling silver Georg Jensen jewellery?
A: Wipe after wear with a soft, dry microfibre or silver‑polishing cloth. For a gentle clean, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths, chemical dips and ultrasonic cleaners, especially if there is oxidised detailing. Store individually in a pouch to minimise scratches and tarnish.

Q: Are they nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive ears?
A: Sterling silver alloys are typically 92.5% silver with copper and are generally nickel‑free; however, sensitivity can vary and clip mechanisms may contain small steel components. If you have allergies, consider using comfort pads or a clear barrier product on contact points and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to posts, repaired or polished?
A: Many jewellers can adjust clip tension, replace springs/pads and perform light polishing. Conversion to pierced posts may be possible depending on the design, but it can alter originality and affect resale value. We don’t modify items in‑house; contact us for recommendations to reputable specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with gentle vintage wear such as minor surface marks. Only accessories specifically shown or listed are included—this listing notes no accessories. Earrings are eligible for return under our standard policy provided they are unworn, any hygiene seals (if applied) remain intact, and they are returned in the same condition received. Please see our Returns page for full details.

Q: Where were they made and what does “Heritage” refer to?
A: Our listing notes Denmark as the country of origin. The Georg Jensen Heritage line draws inspiration from historic Georg Jensen motifs and archives; specifics vary by year. Please review the photos for any hallmarks and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the details for this pair.
