Q: What are the measurements and chain length of this necklace?
A: The heart key pendant is approximately 2.5 cm in height and the chain is about 46 cm (18 in). Please refer to the Measurements on this page for full details.

Q: What material is it made from and will it tarnish?
A: It is crafted in sterling silver (925). All sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time due to exposure to air, moisture and products like lotions or perfume, but it can be easily restored with proper cleaning and storage.

Q: Can I wear this Tiffany necklace in the shower or while swimming?
A: For best care, remove before showering, bathing, swimming or using hot tubs. Chlorine, salt water, cosmetics and household chemicals can accelerate tarnish and dull the finish.

Q: How should I clean and store the necklace?
A: Clean with mild soap and warm water, rinse and dry thoroughly, then use a quality silver‑polishing cloth to restore shine. Avoid bleach and chlorine. Store the piece dry in a soft, anti‑tarnish pouch or box, keeping it separate from other jewellery to minimise scratches.

Q: Is the pendant removable or can I wear it on a different chain?
A: The pendant is attached via a small ring. Whether it can be removed without tools depends on whether that ring is soldered closed. Please review the photos on this page or contact us for guidance. If you prefer another chain length or style, a jeweller can help fit a compatible chain.

Q: Is this piece authentic Tiffany & Co.?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts. Authentic Tiffany silver typically bears clear hallmarks such as Tiffany & Co. and 925; exact placement varies by design. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Is sterling silver suitable for sensitive skin and is it nickel‑free?
A: Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver alloyed primarily with other metals, typically copper rather than nickel. Many people with nickel sensitivity wear sterling silver comfortably, though individual reactions can vary. If you have severe sensitivities, we recommend patch‑testing or consulting a jeweller.

Q: What clasp does this necklace have and is it secure?
A: It features a spring ring closure. This piece is in very good vintage condition with light signs of wear; the hardware is shiny with light scratches. As with any clasp, periodic checks help ensure it remains secure.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section on this page. If a Tiffany box or pouch isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: Can Tiffany boutiques service or polish this vintage piece?
A: Tiffany & Co. boutiques offer cleaning and repair services for their jewellery, including polishing sterling silver. Availability of specific services can vary by store; their client care team can advise on options for your piece.
