Q: What typically fits in the Small CC Tassel Camera Bag?
A: It is a compact piece for essentials. Expect room for a slim card holder, keys, lipstick, and small items. Given the approximate dimensions of 16 × 10.5 × 5 cm, most large smartphones will not fit; smaller or compact phones may fit depending on their size and case. Please compare your device to the measurements provided.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and is the strap adjustable?
A: It has a single chain-and-leather interwoven shoulder strap that is not adjustable. The drop on this piece is approximately 45 cm. On many frames it wears as a shoulder bag and as a higher crossbody on more petite builds; fit will vary by height and clothing layers.

Q: Is the hardware 24k gold-plated on this bag?
A: No. Chanel phased out 24k gold-plated hardware around 2008. As this bag is a later series, its gold-toned hardware is not 24k plated.

Q: What does the serial number 15770888 indicate?
A: The 15-series serial corresponds to a production window in approximately 2011–2012. Please note that a serial number helps date a piece but, on its own, is not proof of authenticity.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this piece, the product information notes the presence of the serial number. If a dust bag, authenticity card or box is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: Chanel produces bags in both France and Italy. This bag indicates Italy as the country of origin.

Q: Are there any notable signs of wear or odour?
A: Overall condition is Very Good. There are some marks on the front, light scratches on the hardware, and some spots on the lining. A light vintage smell is noted.

Q: How should I care for the leather and tassel?
A: Wipe the leather gently with a soft, dry cloth after use and avoid moisture, oils and excessive rubbing against dark fabrics to minimise colour transfer. Store loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag with the tassel laid flat to prevent creasing. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Q: Can Chanel repair or replace the tassel on a vintage piece?
A: Repair offerings can vary by region, part availability and current brand policy. Chanel’s After Sales may assist, but services for older vintage pieces are assessed case by case. Many collectors also use reputable leather specialists for tassel or edge restoration. We recommend consulting your local boutique or a trusted specialist for options.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every item is vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks across materials, construction, stitching, stamps, hardware, and serial. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share further details or photos on request.
