HermèsChildren Dogs Brooch

Q: What are the dimensions of the Hermès Children Dogs Brooch?
A: This brooch measures approximately 6 cm wide, 3 cm high and 0.5 cm deep. It is large enough to stand out on a lapel, knit or scarf without feeling oversized.

Q: What materials and details does this brooch have?
A: It features gold-tone metal with multicolour enamel detailing and fastens with a pin closure. The playful children-and-dogs motif gives it a distinctive vintage Hermès look.

Q: How can I wear a brooch like this?
A: Brooches are often styled on a blazer lapel, coat, scarf, cardigan, hat or structured dress. A piece of this size tends to sit best on slightly heavier fabrics that can support it comfortably.

Q: Will a vintage brooch damage delicate fabrics?
A: Like most pin brooches, it is best used with care on silk, chiffon or very fine knits. If you want to wear it on a delicate fabric, place it through a seam, a reinforced area or use a small backing behind the fabric to reduce strain.

Q: What condition is this piece in?
A: According to the product information, it is in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches consistent with gentle vintage wear.

Q: What is included with the brooch?
A: This item comes with a box. Please refer to the product information section for the full list of what is included with your purchase.

Q: How should I care for the enamel and metal finish?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear and store it separately in a dry place, ideally in its box. Avoid perfumes, cosmetics, water, humidity, heat, shocks and abrasive cleaning methods, as enamel can chip and plated finishes can wear over time.

Q: Can vintage Hermès jewellery like this be repaired or professionally cleaned?
A: Hermès offers maintenance and repair services for jewellery, but availability depends on the specific piece and its condition. For vintage items, an assessment is usually needed before any cleaning or repair is confirmed.

Q: How do I know this brooch is authentic?
A: Every item sold by A Retro Tale is reviewed by in-house experts using detailed checks of materials, construction, hallmarks or stamps, hardware and overall finish, so you can shop with confidence.
