Louis VuittonVernis Alma BB Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma BB Bag?
A: With measurements of 25 x 18 x 12 cm, this compact structured bag is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, card holder or small wallet, keys, lipstick, sunglasses and other small items. It is ideal for light everyday use or occasions, rather than larger items like a tablet or water bottle.

Q: Can this Alma BB be worn crossbody?
A: Yes. This item includes a detachable shoulder strap and can be carried by hand or worn on the shoulder or crossbody, depending on your height and preferred fit. The listed strap drop is 55 cm, and the top handle drop is 10 cm.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: This bag comes with product information including a detachable shoulder strap, padlock, keys and clochette. If any additional extras such as a box or authenticity card are not listed on this page, they are not included.

Q: What is Vernis leather?
A: Monogram Vernis is Louis Vuitton’s glossy embossed patent leather, known for its shiny finish and elegant structured look. It gives the Alma BB a polished appearance and is one of the most recognisable finishes for this model.

Q: Is Vernis leather prone to colour transfer or marks?
A: Yes. One of the most frequently discussed points about Vernis leather is that it can pick up colour transfer from dark denim, magazines, other leathers or heavily dyed fabrics. It can also show indentations and surface marks, so it is best handled with a little extra care.

Q: How should I care for this bag?
A: Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and avoid prolonged contact with dark or colour-rich materials. Wipe gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth only, and avoid harsh cleaners or overstuffing. Lightly stuffing the interior when stored can help the bag keep its shape.

Q: What is the condition of this specific item?
A: This bag is listed in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The exterior and interior are both noted as Very Good, and the hardware is shiny with light scratches. As this is a pre-owned item, minor signs of wear should be expected and are part of its character.

Q: What does the date code MI0163 mean?
A: The date code indicates production in France, and this format corresponds to the 6th week of 2013. Date codes help identify when and where a bag was made, but they are not, on their own, proof of authenticity.

Q: How do you authenticate a pre-owned Louis Vuitton bag like this?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked by experts using details such as materials, construction, hardware, stamps and date code consistency. For this piece, the country label is France and the date code format aligns with the expected production era for Louis Vuitton items of this period.
