Q: What is the length and where will the pendant sit when worn?
A: The chain is approximately 60 cm, a classic matinee length that typically sits around the mid‑chest on most wearers. The heart pendant is about 3.5 cm wide and 1 cm deep, giving a noticeable yet elegant presence without feeling heavy.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: Yes, the lobster clasp can be fastened to different chain links to shorten the drop slightly. For more precise adjustment, you may use a discreet necklace shortener, taking care not to stress the links.

Q: What is it made from—Is this solid gold?
A: This is Chanel costume jewellery with gold‑tone plated metal and multicoloured rhinestones. It is not solid gold; Chanel’s costume pieces are typically crafted from plated base metals with glass or crystal stones, distinct from the brand’s fine jewellery line.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and gold‑tone finish?
A: Put the necklace on after fragrance, hairspray and skincare, and remove it before showering, swimming or exercising. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Do not soak, use ultrasonic/steam cleaners, or harsh chemicals; foil‑backed rhinestones and plating can be damaged by moisture and strong cleaners. Store it separately in its box or a soft pouch to prevent scratches and tangling.

Q: Can the necklace be worn every day?
A: You can wear it regularly with care, but frequent contact with water, perfumes and friction can accelerate wear to the gold‑tone plating and stones. Reserve it for dry, last‑on/first‑off use and give it occasional rest days to preserve the finish.

Q: What if a rhinestone loosens or is lost—can it be replaced?
A: Yes, a skilled jeweller experienced in costume jewellery can re‑set or colour‑match stones. Because vintage rhinestone colours and cuts vary, exact matches may differ slightly; professional assessment is recommended.

Q: How is authenticity verified, and what hallmarks should I expect?
A: A Retro Tale authenticates every item through multi‑point checks of materials, construction, hardware and stamps. Vintage Chanel necklaces typically feature a signature plaque or cartouche near the clasp or on the pendant reverse, such as “CHANEL” and “Made in France,” sometimes with season/date codes. Note that stamps alone are not proof of authenticity; overall craftsmanship and expert review are essential.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: This piece comes with a Chanel box as listed. If an item like a dust bag or extra paperwork isn’t stated under Accessories, it is not included.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: As a vintage plated piece, we cannot guarantee it is nickel‑free. If you have known metal sensitivities, consider limiting wear time or using a protective barrier product, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: How can I style this long necklace?
A: The 60 cm length layers beautifully over knitwear or a blouse and pairs well with shorter chains for a stacked look. Doubling it may be snug for many necks, so it is best worn as a single long pendant unless using a dedicated shortener.
