Q: Is this Clara Studio for Asymmetry choker authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is it solid gold or leather?
A: This piece is crafted from gold‑toned metal with a crocodile‑embossed texture. It is not solid gold, and the texture is embossed metal rather than leather. Exact base‑metal composition can vary by era—please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm specifics for this choker.

Q: What is the length and will a choker fit me? Is it adjustable?
A: Our listing shows a perimeter of 38 cm, designed to sit high at the base of the neck. The fit can feel snug by design. If you need the precise wearable range (minimum–maximum), pendant/centre width, or would like advice on adding a short extender, message us and we’ll measure or advise.

Q: How does it fasten?
A: It features a decorative sphere clasp closure. Please refer to the close‑up images on this page to see how it secures, or contact us and we’ll confirm the mechanism for you.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect?
A: Vintage pieces from Clara Studio for Asymmetry may carry a maker’s stamp or plaque; placement and format can vary by era, and some items may have minimal or no visible stamps. This piece is noted as Made in USA. Our listing photos show any markings present.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using a clear barrier product on contact points or wearing the piece over clothing. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for a gold‑tone plated vintage choker?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and store separately to avoid scratches. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. A non‑abrasive jewellery cloth can be used lightly on metal areas only.

Q: Will the finish tarnish or fade over time?
A: Plated finishes can show light wear with use—especially at high‑friction points like the clasp. Minimising exposure to moisture and cosmetics, wiping after wear and storing individually will help preserve colour and lustre.

Q: Can it be resized, extended, repaired or replated?
A: A jeweller can often add a short extender chain, adjust length slightly or replace a clasp. Replating may be possible but can affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house modifications; contact us if you’d like recommendations for reputable specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This item is in Very Good vintage condition; gentle signs of wear may be present unless stated otherwise. Please review the high‑resolution photos and condition notes. Delivered with no accessories unless specifically listed. Returns are accepted in line with our policy—see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
