IWCPilot Chronograph 36mm Ca 1998 Quartz Watch

Q: What model and year is this IWC watch?
A: This is an IWC Pilot Chronograph, reference 3741, dating from approximately 1998. Its country of origin is Switzerland.

Q: Is this watch quartz or automatic?
A: This watch is listed as quartz, not automatic. It is battery-powered and does not need daily winding.

Q: What size is the watch, and will it suit a smaller wrist?
A: The case diameter is 36 mm, offering a compact option for anyone who prefers a smaller chronograph. The exact fit depends on your wrist size and the fitted strap; strap length is not specified in the product information.

Q: What condition is this particular watch in?
A: It is graded Very Good Condition, with light traces of use and scratches on the case. Both its external and internal condition are recorded as Very Good. It is a pre-owned watch, so some visible wear should be expected.

Q: Are the strap and buckle original IWC components?
A: No. This watch is fitted with an aftermarket strap and buckle, rather than original IWC components.

Q: Does the watch come with a box, papers or other accessories?
A: No additional accessories are included according to the product information. An original box and papers are not included; the watch comes fitted with its aftermarket strap and buckle.

Q: Can I swim or shower while wearing this vintage watch?
A: Its current water resistance and pressure-test status are not specified. Avoid swimming, showering or immersing it unless a qualified watchmaker has confirmed its suitability. IWC advises that water resistance is not permanent and should be tested at least annually.

Q: Has the watch been serviced or had a recent battery replacement?
A: The product information does not specify a service history or the date of the last battery replacement. The Very Good internal condition rating should not be taken as confirmation of a recent service. Ask for any available maintenance details before purchasing; IWC offers battery and watch servicing.

Q: How should I clean and care for this watch?
A: Gently wipe it with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, shocks and extreme temperatures, and keep it dry while its current water resistance remains unconfirmed. Arrange professional attention if it stops or develops changes in timekeeping or chronograph performance.
