Q: What size is this Omega De Ville watch?
A: This watch has a 33 mm case, which gives it a classic vintage dress-watch look. On modern wrists it wears neatly and elegantly rather than oversized, making it a strong choice if you prefer a refined, understated profile.

Q: Will the bracelet fit my wrist?
A: The bracelet currently fits a wrist up to 17.5 cm or smaller. If your wrist is smaller, links may be adjusted for a better fit. If your wrist is larger than 17.5 cm, please assume the current bracelet length may be too short unless additional links are sourced separately.

Q: What features does this watch have?
A: According to the product information, it features a stainless steel case and bracelet, a white textured dial, silver-tone hands and hour markers, a date window at 3 o’clock, and a folding clasp closure.

Q: Does this watch come with box and papers?
A: It includes the original box. Please refer to the product information for the full included set, as only the items listed there are included with the watch.

Q: What condition is the watch in?
A: The watch is listed in very good condition overall, with light traces of use. The internal condition is very good, and the hardware is described as shiny with light scratches. As with most vintage watches, gentle signs of age and wear are normal.

Q: Is this a quartz or mechanical Omega De Ville?
A: This reference is commonly associated with a quartz movement from the late 1990s. That means it is battery-powered rather than hand-wound or automatic, offering straightforward daily wear and easy timekeeping.

Q: How often should a vintage Omega like this be serviced?
A: Omega advises that service needs depend on wear and environment, but as a general guide, a complete service is typically recommended every 5 to 8 years. For vintage pieces, regular checks are especially sensible to help preserve long-term reliability.

Q: Is this watch suitable for swimming or showering?
A: We would not recommend using a vintage dress watch like this for swimming or showering unless it has been professionally pressure-tested very recently. Omega notes that water resistance can be affected over time by ageing gaskets and shocks, so caution is always best with older watches.

Q: How do I care for this watch day to day?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after wear, avoid cosmetics or chemicals on the bracelet and case, and store it in a dry place away from heat, humidity, and strong magnetic fields. If the battery needs replacing, it is best handled by a professional watch service.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Omega watches?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by in-house experts. Authentication is based on a detailed review of construction, materials, markings, reference details, and overall consistency, so you can shop with confidence.
