Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Alma MM?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 × 27 × 17 cm, this is a roomy structured day bag. It will typically hold a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetics pouch, charger, compact umbrella, and other daily essentials. A small tablet may fit, but very bulky or square items can feel awkward because of the domed shape and zip opening.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This specific item is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm. It features dual rolled handles with an approximate handle drop of 10 cm, and no shoulder strap is included with this piece.

Q: Is the Alma MM a good everyday bag?
A: Yes, the Alma MM is well suited to everyday use if you like a polished, structured handbag with a classic silhouette. It offers more room than the smaller Alma sizes while still keeping a refined shape. Do keep in mind that the handheld design and structured build can feel less convenient than a soft shoulder tote if you carry heavier items all day.

Q: Will it fit a laptop or A4 documents?
A: It is better suited to daily essentials, smaller notebooks, and compact tech than to most laptops or full-size A4 paperwork. Although the width is generous, the 27 cm height and curved zip opening make it less practical for larger flat work items.

Q: How should I care for Damier Ebene canvas and leather trim?
A: For routine care, gently wipe the coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, solvents, oils, perfumes, or sanitisers on the leather trim. Try not to overfill the bag, and store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag or another ventilated storage solution away from direct heat and sunlight. As this is a vintage piece, gentle handling will help preserve its shape and finish.

Q: What does the code CT2142 mean?
A: CT2142 is a Louis Vuitton date code rather than a unique serial number. The letters indicate the place of manufacture, and the numbers indicate the production period. In this format, the code points to production in France during the 24th week of 2012. Date codes are useful for dating a bag, but they are only one part of authentication.

Q: What product information is included with this item?
A: No additional product information is included with this item. If you were expecting items such as a padlock, keys, clochette, dust bag, or receipt, they are not included unless specifically stated on the product page.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This bag is listed in good vintage condition. The exterior shows scuffing on the base and trim with smaller marks, the interior has light traces of use and some marks, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. It presents well overall while still showing normal wear consistent with a pre-owned piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully reviewed for authenticity using a multi-point assessment of materials, construction, stitching, hardware, branding details, and date code placement. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell and are happy to answer specific questions before purchase.
