Q: What is the Louis Vuitton Boîte Camille Box and how is it typically used?
A: It is a small, hard‑sided Louis Vuitton accessory case in Monogram coated canvas with a leather lid and a microfibre‑lined interior. Designed as a decorative storage piece, it’s ideal for organising jewellery and small keepsakes on a dressing table or shelf.

Q: What fits inside this piece?
A: With approximate measurements of 17 × 17 × 7 cm, it comfortably holds items such as bracelets, rings, cufflinks, a compact mirror, lipstick, earbuds, or other small accessories. It is not designed to function as a handbag.

Q: How does the box close? Is the lid hinged?
A: The lid is a lift‑off top rather than a hinged lid. There is no clasp or lock on this model—simply place the lid on and off for access.

Q: Is the Boîte Camille still produced by Louis Vuitton?
A: This is considered a vintage/discontinued accessory that now appears primarily on the resale market, often noted in several sizes (commonly labelled PM, MM, GM). Current Louis Vuitton collections include other jewellery boxes and cases, but this specific round box is no longer a regular boutique offering.

Q: What materials is this one made from?
A: The body is Monogram coated canvas with a leather lid and a soft microfibre interior. On this piece you’ll find a black leather lid and a red microfibre lining, as shown in our photos and description.

Q: Does it come with a strap or handle?
A: No. This model was designed as a lidded storage box without handles, D‑rings, or a shoulder strap.

Q: Is this the same as the “Pochette Camille” bag I see online?
A: No. The Pochette Camille is a modern shoulder/cross‑body bag with a chain and S‑Lock; the Boîte Camille is a small round box for accessories. They share the Camille name but are very different items.

Q: Does Louis Vuitton provide an authenticity card or serial number for items like this?
A: Louis Vuitton does not issue authenticity cards. Many vintage pieces feature a date code stamped discreetly inside to indicate factory and period, but date codes are not unique identifiers and are not the sole proof of authenticity. Newer LV items (from around 2021) may use internal microchips instead of visible date codes; as a vintage piece, this box may carry a date code depending on the production run. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts before listing.

Q: How should I care for the materials?
A: For Monogram coated canvas, wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soapy water; avoid solvents, oils, and harsh cleaners. Keep the leather lid away from water and prolonged sunlight/heat. Store the box in a cool, well‑ventilated place and avoid compressing it to preserve its shape.

Q: There is a light vintage odour—will it fade?
A: A mild vintage odour is common with older pieces and usually dissipates with time. Air the item in a cool, dry, ventilated space and avoid perfume or chemical sprays inside, which can stain or linger. Using odour‑absorbing sachets (such as activated charcoal) in a separate pouch nearby can help without contacting the lining.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under Accessories on this page. This specific piece is offered without extras (no dust bag, box, or papers).
