Q: What typically fits inside the Pochette Florentine?
A: With approximate measurements of 16 × 10 × 4 cm, it holds small daily essentials such as a cardholder, keys, lipstick, folded notes and wireless earbuds. Due to its compact height and the curved flap, capacity is modest—pack slim items for the best experience.

Q: Will it fit a modern smartphone or a passport?
A: Compact smartphones may fit, especially models around or under about 14 cm in height and without a bulky case. Larger phones are usually too tight. A standard passport (about 12.5 × 8.8 cm) can fit snugly; if you use a cover, please check the measurements against the internal space and avoid forcing the flap.

Q: How is the belt strap sized and is it removable?
A: This piece comes with a detachable leather belt strap listed in the product information at approximately 90 cm total length (about 35.4 in). Depending on hole placement and how high or low you wear it, this typically suits waists in the mid- to high-70s cm range, but please measure a belt you wear comfortably to confirm. Alternative strap sizes exist for this model, but only what is listed in the product information is included.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody or on the shoulder?
A: The Pochette Florentine was designed as a belt bag with two rear loops and does not have side D-rings. Some users add third‑party chains via the loops, but this is not an official carry method and may stress the leather—use with care and at your own discretion.

Q: Does it have interior pockets?
A: No. The Florentine has a single open compartment lined in beige Alcantara for a clean, minimalist interior.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: It features a magnetic flap closure that keeps slim essentials secure during normal daily wear. Avoid overstuffing to ensure the magnet seats properly. Store payment cards in a cardholder and keep the flap closed when not in use.

Q: What does the date code FL1022 mean?
A: FL indicates manufacture in France. With this four‑digit format used before 2007, the 1st and 3rd digits denote the month and the 2nd and 4th the year—so FL1022 decodes to December 2002.

Q: How should I care for the materials?
A: Monogram canvas can be wiped with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dried immediately. The natural Vachetta leather trim is untreated and will develop a patina; keep it dry, avoid oils and alcohol‑based products, and store away from direct sunlight. For the Alcantara lining, gently brush or use a lint roller; for spot cleaning, follow Alcantara’s official guidance and avoid soaking the fabric.

Q: What is included with this item and how do you authenticate it?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page (for example, the detachable belt strap). Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps, hardware and date codes; we stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
