Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Taurillon Neo Square Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 18 × 18 × 15 cm, it’s ideal for daily essentials: large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, wireless earbuds and a small cosmetics pouch. A passport fits easily. A small 250–330 ml bottle may fit; 500 ml bottles and A4 documents do not sit upright. A5 notebooks can fit if slim/soft‑cover. If you’d like a tailored fit check for a specific item, just ask and we’ll test this exact piece.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and how does the strap/handles sit?
A: Yes—this piece includes dual top handles (approx. 14 cm drop) for hand/crook‑of‑arm carry and a detachable shoulder strap with an approx. 53 cm drop. On most wearers, the strap gives a comfortable shoulder or high crossbody carry. Strap adjustability can vary by release; for this item, please refer to the Measurements and Accessories listed or contact us for exact fit advice.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the pocket layout?
A: The Neo Square features a zip‑top main compartment for everyday security, plus a front envelope pocket with Louis Vuitton’s signature S‑Lock for quick‑access items. The interior is lined in black with one slip/flat pocket to organise valuables. Our photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What is Taurillon leather and how does it feel/wear?
A: Taurillon is Louis Vuitton’s grained calfskin noted for its soft yet robust hand and pebbled texture. It’s designed for everyday durability with a refined, slightly matte finish that resists minor scuffs better than smoother leathers. Natural variations in grain are part of its character.

Q: How should I care for Taurillon leather and the gold‑tone hardware?
A: Keep the bag away from heavy rain and oils; be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim onto lighter leathers. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; use a high‑quality neutral leather conditioner very sparingly and only after testing on a discreet area. Store it upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid hanging it by the strap for long periods. Hardware can show fine hairline scratches with normal use—avoid abrasive surfaces and pad hardware during storage to minimise rub marks.

Q: What typically goes in the front S‑Lock pocket?
A: It’s best for low‑profile items you reach for often—travel cards, receipts, a slim cardholder or keys. We don’t recommend bulky objects here as they can distort the clean cube silhouette.

Q: When was this bag produced? What does the date code FL2169 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton used alphanumeric date codes until its 2021 transition to embedded microchips. The code “FL2169” indicates French manufacture (“FL”) and, in the post‑2007 format, week 26 of 2019. Placement can vary by model—usually on a small leather tab or along an interior seam.

Q: Is the Neo Square Bag still in production?
A: The Neo Square was introduced as a seasonal style around Autumn/Winter 2019 and is generally considered discontinued. Availability today is through the pre‑loved market rather than LV boutiques; details (e.g., strap adjustability) can vary slightly by release.

Q: What accessories are included with this specific piece?
A: This listing includes a dust bag, luggage tag and detachable shoulder strap, as shown under “Accessories.” If an item isn’t mentioned there (e.g., box or care booklet), it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm anything specific.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate?
A: Every item undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials and grain, stitching, hardware and S‑Lock components, interior stamps and the date code/microchip era, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
