Q: What is the Omega Speedmaster 42mm Ref. 3594.50 (2005)?
A: It’s a manual‑wind, stainless‑steel Speedmaster with vintage‑inspired Broad Arrow hands, a black dial with three chronograph registers, and a steel tachymeter bezel—classic 42mm “Moonwatch” proportions from 2005.

Q: Which movement does it use and what is the power reserve?
A: Ref. 3594.50 models of this era typically house the hand‑wound Omega Calibre 1861 (Lemania‑based) chronograph with an approximate 48‑hour power reserve. We can confirm the exact calibre in this specific watch on request.

Q: How do I wind and set it?
A: Wind the crown clockwise daily until you feel gentle resistance (around 30–40 turns from fully stopped). Pull the crown once to set the time; this model is usually time‑only (no date), so there’s no date‑setting step. Avoid forcing the crown past resistance.

Q: How do I operate the chronograph and reset safely?
A: Start/stop with the upper pusher; reset with the lower pusher only after the chronograph is stopped. Do not press reset while running. Note: this piece shows a slight reset delay (as stated) but functions correctly; a service can address it if preferred.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I swim with it?
A: Speedmaster Professional cases were originally rated to 50 metres, but water resistance on vintage/pre‑owned watches cannot be guaranteed without recent gasket replacement and pressure testing. Treat it as splash‑resistant; avoid swimming or showering unless it has been freshly tested. Keep the crown fully pushed in.

Q: Does it have hesalite or sapphire crystal?
A: Most 3594.50 examples feature a hesalite (acrylic) crystal, prized for its warm look and easy polishing of fine marks (e.g., with Polywatch). If you’d like us to confirm the crystal on this exact watch, please contact us.

Q: What is the wrist fit and can the bracelet be resized?
A: This bracelet fits a wrist up to approximately 17.5 cm as listed. We can size it prior to dispatch, and additional links may be sourced subject to availability. The case uses 20mm lugs if you’d like to switch to a strap.

Q: How do I use the tachymeter bezel?
A: Start the chronograph at a marker, stop after covering one kilometre (or one mile), and read the number on the bezel at the seconds hand—that figure is your average speed per hour. It can also be used to time production rates per hour by measuring one unit and extrapolating.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect?
A: A healthy Calibre 1861 typically keeps good everyday time; performance varies with age and service history. A routine service every 5–10 years is recommended, or sooner if you notice issues (e.g., reset irregularities or moisture). Keep it away from strong magnets and wipe it with a soft microfibre cloth after wear.

Q: What is included, and what warranty/shipping do you offer?
A: This listing is delivered with no accessories unless stated. A Retro Tale rigorously authenticates every item and provides a 12‑month mechanical guarantee. We offer free, fully insured DHL shipping, a 14‑day return policy, and 0% customs fees for EU buyers.
