Q: Are these earrings for pierced ears or clip-on?
A: They feature a post-back closure designed for pierced ears, providing a secure and comfortable fit.

Q: Does silver-tone mean sterling silver?
A: No. In Chanel fashion jewellery, silver-tone refers to a plated finish over base metal. Unless explicitly stated, pieces are not solid sterling silver. These earrings are part of Chanel’s costume jewellery line, not fine jewellery.

Q: How big are they and how do they sit on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 2 × 2 (see Measurements on this page). The star hoop with a dangling CC charm creates subtle movement without being oversized. Please review the photos for scale.

Q: What is the condition of this pair?
A: Very Good overall with light traces of use. Hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches consistent with gentle wear. Please refer to the Condition section and images for details.

Q: Are the crystals original and are any missing?
A: Chanel typically uses glass or crystal embellishments on its costume jewellery. We inspect each pair; any missing stones or notable issues would be clearly noted in the Condition section. None are noted here.

Q: Are these earrings hypoallergenic or nickel‑free?
A: Chanel costume jewellery can contain base‑metal alloys and is not guaranteed nickel‑free. If you have metal sensitivities, consider using protective barriers (e.g., comfort sleeves) or opting for hypoallergenic backings.

Q: How should I care for silver‑tone and crystal‑embellished Chanel earrings?
A: Put them on after perfume, hairspray, and skincare; avoid contact with water, humidity, and prolonged sunlight; wipe with a soft dry cloth; and store separately to prevent scratches and crystal loss.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this specific pair, no additional items are noted as included.

Q: How do you authenticate Chanel jewellery?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, including checks of materials, construction, hallmarking, and era‑appropriate details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Can posts or crystals be repaired if needed?
A: Minor work like replacing a crystal or tightening a post can often be carried out by a specialist jeweller. Replating or non‑original parts may affect collectability, so we recommend professional advice before any alterations.
