Q: What is the fit of this choker?
A: The necklace has an approximate perimeter of 35 cm and is designed to sit close to the neck as a true choker. It has slight adjustability via the lobster clasp, but if you prefer extra length you can use a small extender chain. Please measure your neck circumference to ensure a comfortable fit.

Q: What materials and finish does it have?
A: This vintage piece features gold‑tone hardware, an interwoven black leather chain and a centre logo plate set with crystals. As with most Chanel costume jewellery, the metal is a plated alloy rather than solid precious metal.

Q: What’s included with this item?
A: Accessories are listed on this page. For this piece, no accessories are included. If an item such as a box or dust bag is not listed, it is not included.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone and crystals?
A: Put the choker on after applying fragrance, lotions or hairspray; avoid contact with water, humidity and prolonged sunlight; wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint‑free cloth after wear; and store it separately in a cool, dry place. Do not use liquid or ultrasonic cleaners, and avoid abrasive polishing cloths that can wear plating or loosen stones.

Q: How should I care for the interwoven leather?
A: Keep the leather away from moisture and oils, and wipe only with a clean, dry cloth. Do not condition, soak or apply solvents to the leather weave, as this can stain or weaken it.

Q: Will the finish tarnish or fade over time?
A: All plated costume jewellery can show surface wear with use and exposure to air, skin acidity and humidity. Following the care tips above and storing the choker in a dry environment will help preserve the shine and minimise wear.

Q: Is this piece hypoallergenic or nickel‑free?
A: Chanel does not claim that its costume jewellery is nickel‑free. Because plated alloys may contain nickel, those with metal sensitivities should test for comfort and consider using a protective barrier product on skin contact points.

Q: How do you authenticate this Chanel choker?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by our specialists using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps and hardware. Chanel costume jewellery typically carries a discreet signature stamp or oval cartouche near the clasp or on the reverse; stamp style and placement can help indicate the era. We are happy to share additional close‑up photos on request.

Q: What is the condition of this piece?
A: It is in very good vintage condition with light traces of use; the hardware remains shiny with minor surface scratches consistent with careful wear. Please review the photos for the most accurate view of condition.
