Q: What do the size numbers 120x54x17 mean, and how do I know if they will fit me?
A: These figures are millimetres commonly referring to temple length, lens width, and bridge width. As a guide, a 54 mm lens width generally suits a medium fit, while a 17 mm bridge is a common nose fit. Temple lengths vary; compare these numbers with a pair you already own for the best reference. Please refer to the Product Size on this page and measure against your current frames for accuracy.

Q: Are the yellow tinted lenses suitable for bright sunlight?
A: Yellow lenses enhance contrast and clarity in lower-light or overcast conditions and can reduce perceived blue light. They are excellent for style and for activities like evening driving, but some people prefer darker tints or polarised lenses for intense midday sun. If you need maximum glare reduction, consider darker, polarised lenses.

Q: Do these lenses block UV rays?
A: Lens colour does not determine UV protection. Look for confirmation such as “UV400” or “100% UVA/UVB”. Because this is a vintage pair, UV performance can vary by era and lens type; if UV protection is essential, an optician can test the lenses or fit UV400 replacement lenses after purchase.

Q: Can I put prescription lenses into this Gucci frame?
A: In many cases, yes. Acetate frames like this can often be glazed with prescription lenses, provided an optician confirms the frame is suitable for your prescription, lens curvature, and fitting height. Any modifications should be done after purchase and may affect return eligibility—please review your options with your optician first.

Q: How does the vintage condition affect wear?
A: This pair is graded Very Good with light trace of use. Expect minor, normal signs of wear for a vintage item (such as faint hairline scratches) that do not affect overall appearance or vision. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, consistent with careful past use.

Q: How should I clean and care for the frame and lenses?
A: Rinse with lukewarm water, use a drop of mild soap, and dry with a clean microfibre cloth. Avoid alcohol, acetone, ammonia, and paper tissues. Store in a protective case when not in use and keep away from extreme heat (for example, a hot car dashboard) to preserve the acetate shape and lens coatings.

Q: Can the fit be adjusted if the bridge or temples feel tight or loose?
A: Yes. Acetate can be gently adjusted by a professional using controlled heat to fine-tune temple length bends and overall alignment. Small at-home tweaks are possible, but we recommend a qualified optician to avoid damaging vintage acetate or lens coatings.

Q: How can I be sure these are authentic Gucci sunglasses?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our specialists. Typical Gucci eyewear features include a model code on the inner arm, “Made in Italy” and CE markings, and quality logo detailing. Packaging and markings may vary by production year. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share more details on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If a case or box is shown or stated there, it is included; items not listed in product information are not included—feel free to contact us for confirmation.
