Q: What are the measurements and what typically fits inside the Alma PM?
A: The bag measures approximately 32 W × 24 H × 16 D cm with a handle drop of about 9 cm. It comfortably holds a long wallet, smartphone, sunglasses case, small cosmetics pouch, keys, and a compact tablet (such as an iPad mini). It will not fit A4 documents or a 13-inch laptop. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Does this Alma PM come with a shoulder strap, or can one be added?
A: This piece is sold without a strap and is traditionally a top‑handle style. However, Louis Vuitton has offered a slim 16 mm strap designed for the hand‑held Alma PM. Availability can vary by season and store; if you choose to add a strap later, ensure you select the Alma‑compatible model and avoid overloading the bag when shoulder‑carrying.

Q: How is the Alma PM typically carried and how secure is the opening?
A: The Alma PM is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm via its dual rolled handles. It features a double zip‑around closure for secure access. This item does not include additional items unless specified in the product information section.

Q: What materials is this bag made from?
A: This model is crafted from Damier Ebene coated canvas with brown leather trim and gold‑toned hardware. The interior is red textile with two slip pockets, as shown in our product information and images.

Q: Is Damier Ebene coated canvas rain‑friendly? How should I care for it?
A: Coated canvas is durable and generally resistant to light rain, but prolonged exposure to water is not recommended. Wipe the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry gently if wet. Avoid alcohol‑based products, oils, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. To minimise colour transfer, keep it away from heavily dyed materials. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable cover, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Q: What does the date code FL1004 mean?
A: FL denotes a French workshop. For codes used in this era, the first and third digits indicate the month and the second and fourth digits indicate the year, so 1004 points to October 2004 in France. Note that from 2021 Louis Vuitton began phasing out visible codes in favour of internal microchips; this 2004 piece correctly has a traditional stamped code.

Q: Is this considered vintage?
A: Yes. With a production date in 2004 and pre‑loved status, this Alma PM is considered a vintage piece. It is in Very Good condition with light signs of use, as described under product information.

Q: What is included with this listing?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. This piece is sold without additional items unless specifically stated there.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, including materials, stitching, stamp and date code checks, and hardware inspection. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide further details upon request.
