Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Damier Ébène Uzes?
A: With approximate measurements of 36 × 30 × 12 cm, it comfortably carries daily essentials: large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, wireless earbuds, a small cosmetics pouch and an A5 diary. A4 documents (29.7 × 21 cm) fit flat. A 500 ml water bottle can stand upright; we recommend using a small zip pouch to keep loose items organised.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or a 13-inch laptop?
A: Slim tablets (e.g., iPad/Air/11-inch Pro) fit easily. A 13-inch laptop typically fits without a bulky sleeve thanks to the 30 cm height and open-top design; however, the hook closure offers moderate security and the interior isn’t padded. For commuting, use a protective sleeve and keep the bag upright. Share your device’s dimensions and we’ll perform a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody? Does it come with a strap?
A: The Uzes is a shoulder/hand carry tote with dual top handles (approx. 19 cm drop). It isn’t designed for crossbody wear and this listing does not include a shoulder strap. Everything included with this item is listed under “Accessories”; this piece states no accessories.

Q: How secure is the closure and what’s the pocket layout?
A: It has an open top with a hook closure for quick access and everyday convenience. Externally, there are two flap pockets for small essentials. Inside, the orange Alcantara lining features two internal pockets (including a zip pocket) to organise valuables. For travel or busy commutes, we suggest keeping the bag upright and using a small zip pouch for extra security.

Q: What does the date code MB0075 mean?
A: “MB” denotes production in France. In the 1990–2006 format, the 1st and 3rd digits indicate the month, and the 2nd and 4th digits indicate the year: “0” and “7” = July; “0” and “5” = 2005. So this piece was made in France in July 2005.

Q: Is the Uzes still produced?
A: The Uzes is a discontinued/vintage style, generally from the early–mid 2000s. Availability today is through the pre‑loved market; details can vary slightly by year, so please review our photos and description for this exact piece.

Q: How does Damier Ébène perform in rain, and is colour transfer a concern?
A: Damier Ébène coated canvas and its dark, treated leather trim are more rain‑friendly than untreated vachetta; light showers are usually fine. Avoid heavy rain and prolonged moisture; blot dry gently if damp. As with most leathers, colour transfer from dark denim/clothing can occur—especially when fabrics are wet—so take care with contact and storage.

Q: How should I care for the canvas, leather and hardware?
A: Wipe the canvas and leather trim with a soft, dry cloth; avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol‑based wipes and oil‑based conditioners. Keep away from prolonged sunlight and high heat. Store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag; avoid hanging by the handles for long periods. Hardware is polished gold‑tone and may show fine hairline scratches with normal use—minimise abrasion and protect during storage.

Q: How do I care for the Alcantara lining?
A: Alcantara (a premium microfibre with a suede‑like feel) can be gently brushed to lift lint and dust. For spot cleaning, use a lightly dampened microfibre cloth with a mild soap solution; blot (don’t rub) and allow to air‑dry away from heat. Avoid saturating the fabric and always test any cleaning method on a discreet area first.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes found, and how do you authenticate?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton bags feature an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and country of origin) and, for pieces of this era, a date code on a small leather tab or along an interior seam. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts—assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps/date code and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
