Q: What are the measurements and carrying options for the Riverside? A: Approximate dimensions are 35 cm (W) × 24 cm (H) × 12 cm (D). The handle drop is about 12–14 cm and the detachable shoulder strap has an approximate 42–43 cm drop, ideal for hand or shoulder carry. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact figures for this item.

Q: How is the interior organised? A: The Riverside features a black microfibre lining with three main sections: two open compartments separated by a central zipped compartment. There is also an exterior slip pocket with a magnetic closure for quick-access items.

Q: What typically fits inside? Will it hold a laptop? A: Daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, small cosmetics case and an A5 notebook fit comfortably. Given the bag’s width and height, it fits most 13-inch laptops (for example, a 13-inch MacBook Air is about 30.41 × 21.24 cm). Many slim 14-inch laptops (around 31.26 × 22.12 cm) may also fit, though snugly. We recommend comparing your device’s dimensions to the bag’s measurements and using a thin sleeve for protection.

Q: Is the shoulder strap suitable for crossbody wear? A: The Riverside’s strap is typically a shoulder length with an approximate 42–43 cm drop. Most clients find it best for shoulder carry; crossbody wear may sit higher on the torso and depends on your height and preference.

Q: What materials is this model made from? A: Damier Ebene coated canvas with grained leather trim and gold-tone hardware. Coated canvas is known for being durable and water-resistant with everyday use, while the leather trim adds structure and a refined finish.

Q: Does the Riverside have protective feet and a secure closure? A: Yes, the base has protective metal feet. The top has a magnetic closure and the central compartment is zipped for valuables.

Q: What does the date code DU5119 mean on this item? A: DU indicates manufacture in France. Using the 2007–2021 format, DU5119 decodes to the 51st week of 2019.

Q: Is the Riverside still part of Louis Vuitton’s current collection? A: It is not commonly listed among the brand’s current offerings and is most often available on the pre-loved market. Availability can vary over time.

Q: How should I care for Damier Ebene canvas and the microfibre lining? A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid alcohol-based or harsh cleaners. Keep the bag away from direct sunlight/heat and from materials prone to colour transfer. For the microfibre lining, gently shake out debris and use a lint roller or a soft brush; treat spills promptly with minimal moisture and test any cleaner on a hidden spot first. Store the bag loosely stuffed in its dust bag to maintain shape.

Q: The listing notes a vintage smell. Any tips to reduce it safely? A: Air the bag in a dry, ventilated space away from direct sun and place odour absorbers (such as baking soda or activated charcoal in breathable sachets) inside for 24–48 hours. Avoid spraying perfumes or harsh deodorisers directly on the lining. If odour persists, consider a professional handbag care specialist.

Q: What is included with this listing? A: Please see the product information on this page. For this item, it includes the box, dust bag, detachable shoulder strap and an LV bag charm.
