Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Artsy GM Bag?
A: The GM is a roomy everyday hobo bag. With measurements of 37 x 35 x 17 cm, it typically fits a long wallet, phone, sunglasses case, cosmetics pouch, water bottle and a light cardigan or small tablet. Space can vary depending on how you pack, so please refer to the Measurements on this page for the best guide.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The Artsy is designed with a single braided leather handle for shoulder carry, and this bag has a handle drop of approximately 14 cm. Fit can vary slightly depending on clothing and shoulder width, and many owners find the handle becomes more supple with use.

Q: Does the Artsy GM close with a zip?
A: No. The Artsy GM is an open-top style rather than a zip-top bag, giving it a relaxed silhouette and easy access to your essentials.

Q: Is the Artsy GM heavy?
A: The Artsy GM is known for its generous size, so it can feel weighty when fully packed. If you prefer a lighter carry, it is best used with daily essentials rather than overfilling it.

Q: How is the inside organised?
A: The Artsy GM is known for a spacious central compartment with helpful internal organisation, typically including a zipped pocket and several slip pockets for smaller essentials.

Q: How should I care for the Monogram canvas and leather handle?
A: Wipe the canvas gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. The natural leather handle may darken and develop patina over time, which is normal. Keep the bag away from prolonged moisture, heat and direct sunlight, and store it loosely filled to help maintain its shape.

Q: What does the date code CA4099 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton used date codes rather than unique serial numbers on many older pieces. In this format, the four numbers indicate the production week and year, so CA4099 points to the 49th week of 2009. A date code is one authentication point, but it should always be considered together with materials, construction and brand stamps.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully reviewed by experts using checks such as materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and date code details. We stand behind the authenticity of the items we sell.
