Q: What are the approximate dimensions of the Pochette Cité and how is it organised?
A: It measures around 20.5 x 12 x 6 cm with a single flat shoulder strap, a secure top zip, one exterior zip pocket and an interior slip pocket. This particular piece is in Monogram coated canvas with Vachetta leather trim and gold‑tone hardware.

Q: What typically fits inside day to day?
A: A large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, small cosmetics and travel‑size essentials fit comfortably. Packing slim items keeps the silhouette neat; avoid overfilling to preserve the shape and the zip track.

Q: Will a large iPhone/Android (Pro/Max size) fit?
A: Yes. With a width of about 20–21 cm and a height of about 12 cm, the compartment accommodates most large modern smartphones along with a few small essentials.

Q: Is the Pochette Cité discontinued?
A: Yes. The Cité family from the early 2000s is no longer in current production. Louis Vuitton has since introduced the modern Vivacité, inspired by the 2003 design, but the Pochette Cité itself is a vintage model.

Q: Is the strap adjustable or detachable? Can it be worn crossbody?
A: The Pochette Cité has a fixed, non‑detachable shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 25 cm. It is designed for shoulder carry rather than crossbody.

Q: Where is the date code located and what if it is hard to read?
A: On this era of LV, the code is typically stamped on a small leather tab or discreetly on the lining along a seam or under a pocket. Codes can fade with use and are not unique serial numbers; they indicate place and period of manufacture only. Fading or an illegible code does not by itself invalidate authenticity.

Q: How should I care for the Vachetta leather and Monogram canvas?
A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Keep Vachetta away from water, oils and hand sanitiser to avoid stains; allow natural patina to develop. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, away from heat, humidity and prolonged sunlight.

Q: Can I use the bag in the rain?
A: The coated canvas offers light water resistance, but the untreated Vachetta will darken or spot if wet. If exposed to moisture, blot gently with a clean, dry cloth and let it air‑dry naturally—do not use heat.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything supplied is shown on this page under product information. For this specific listing, no additional items are included beyond the bag itself.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Each piece is examined by our specialists using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and construction details. Date codes are reviewed as one data point, but we never rely on a code alone; overall craftsmanship and model‑correct components are assessed before an item is approved for sale.
