Q: What makes this Zippy Long Wallet special?
A: It is from Louis Vuitton’s Takashi Murakami Monogram Multicolore collaboration, a landmark early‑2000s project. The Multicolore line debuted in 2003 and was discontinued around mid‑2015, making well‑kept pieces sought after by collectors. This example is the Noir (black) Multicolore canvas with gold‑tone hardware and a light brown leather interior.

Q: What are the dimensions and what typically fits inside?
A: Approx. 20 × 10 × 2 cm. It comfortably holds unfolded banknotes, receipts, coins, and multiple cards. A slim smartphone may fit if the wallet is not overfilled, but larger modern phones (especially “Plus/Pro Max” sizes or phones with bulky cases) are usually too big. A standard passport can fit quite snugly in a slip compartment, though it is tight and not ideal if the wallet is fully packed; frequent travellers may prefer a dedicated organiser.

Q: How is the interior laid out on this Multicolore Zippy model?
A: Earlier Multicolore Zippy wallets like this typically feature three gusseted compartments, one central zipped coin pocket, around eight card slots, and several slip pockets for notes and receipts. Exact configurations can vary slightly by production year; please review our photos to confirm this piece’s layout.

Q: Is the Multicolore print durable? Will the colours rub off?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is hard‑wearing, and the Multicolore motif is silkscreened onto the surface. With normal use it ages well, but heavy abrasion on high‑friction points can dull or abrade colours over time. To preserve the print, avoid rough surfaces and prolonged rubbing against metal zips, keys, or textured fabrics.

Q: How should I care for the canvas and leather trim?
A: Wipe coated canvas occasionally with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid alcohol‑based products (including hand sanitiser), solvents, oils, or harsh cleaners. Keep leather parts away from water and excessive heat or sunlight. Store the wallet zipped, lightly filled, and in a breathable dust bag; do not overstuff to prevent warping of the zip and edges.

Q: Can Louis Vuitton repair or refresh this wallet (e.g., zip pull, glazing, hardware)?
A: Louis Vuitton offers after‑sales repairs assessed case by case in boutiques. Common services include replacing zipper pulls and hardware and refreshing glazing; cracked canvas is typically not repairable. Independent luxury restorers can also address minor glazing wear or light hardware tarnish. Bring the wallet to an LV boutique or trusted restorer for an evaluation and quotation.

Q: What does the date code GA3093 indicate?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes comprise two letters (workshop/country) and numbers (production timing). Formats changed over the years; codes do not function as unique serial numbers. For this era, the letters align with Spanish workshops, matching the Made in Spain stamp on this piece. Because codes alone don’t authenticate an item, we examine materials, stamps, stitching, hardware, and overall construction as part of our process.

Q: This listing mentions signs of wear—what should I expect?
A: The exterior is in good condition with edge scuffs and some hardware tarnish; inside there are stains in the coin pocket and marks on the lining, plus a slight vintage smell. These nuances are reflected in our condition grading and detailed photos. Normal use and professional care can help maintain and gently improve the wallet’s appearance over time.

Q: Is the vintage smell removable?
A: Mild odours often dissipate with gentle airing. Store the wallet open (out of direct sunlight) in a dry, ventilated room for 24–72 hours. You can place an odour absorber nearby (activated charcoal or baking‑soda sachet) to help; avoid spraying perfumes or using harsh deodorisers directly on the leather or canvas. If needed, a specialist cleaner can perform a deeper, bag‑safe deodorising treatment.

Q: Does this item come with any accessories?
A: No. This wallet is sold as pictured without a box, dust bag, or additional accessories. Everything included is always listed in the Accessories section of the product page.
