Q: What exactly is this model? A: It is the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M 30 mm, reference 231.10.30.60.55.001. It features a white mother‑of‑pearl dial with diamond hour markers, a date at 3 o’clock, a stainless‑steel case and bracelet, a domed sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment on both sides, and a screw‑down crown. It is powered by Omega’s quartz calibre 4651.
Q: Can I swim with it? A: Yes. The Aqua Terra is rated to 150 metres and is suitable for surface swimming and snorkelling when the crown is fully screwed down. As water resistance is not permanent, we recommend an annual water‑resistance check, especially for a 2015 watch, before regular water use.
Q: Is it safe to wear in the shower, hot tub, or sauna? A: Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, and saunas. Heat and sudden temperature changes can affect gaskets and compromise water resistance, even on a 150 m watch.
Q: What movement does it use and how long does the battery last? A: The watch uses the Omega quartz calibre 4651 with an end‑of‑life (EOL) indicator. Typical battery life is around 3½ years (approximately 44 months), however this varies with use and conditions.
Q: Why is the seconds hand jumping several seconds at a time? A: That behaviour is the EOL indicator found on many Omega quartz movements. When the seconds hand jumps in four‑second steps, the battery is nearing the end of its life and should be replaced promptly to avoid potential leakage.
Q: How often should I service or check the watch? A: Have the water resistance checked yearly and service the watch approximately every 5–8 years (with battery changes as needed). Gaskets age over time, so regular checks help maintain water resistance.
Q: Are the diamonds factory set, and what quality are they? A: Yes, the diamond hour markers are factory set by Omega. Omega specifies the use of Top Wesselton white diamonds with clarity ranging from pure to VVS. The mother‑of‑pearl dial is a natural material, so its iridescence and pattern are unique to each piece.
Q: How should I set the time and date safely? A: As a general best practice with date watches, avoid using the quick‑set date while the time is around the late‑evening/early‑morning changeover (roughly 9 pm to 3 am). If unsure, set the hands to about 6 o’clock before adjusting the date, then set the correct time and screw the crown back in fully.
Q: Can the bracelet be resized, and what wrist size does it fit now? A: This piece is currently sized to fit a wrist up to approximately 15 cm. The bracelet can be resized by adding or removing links; we can assist with sizing and sourcing additional links if required.
