Q: Is this Chanel CC Star Brooch authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Is it real gold?
A: This brooch is a piece of Chanel costume jewellery crafted from gold‑tone metal with yellow enamel detailing. It features a star‑shaped design with the iconic CC logo. It is not made of solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos and features, and contact us if you would like us to confirm any specifics regarding the composition.

Q: What are the measurements and how big is it?
A: The brooch measures approximately 3 cm (height) x 3 cm (width) x 0.5 cm (depth). This compact size makes it a versatile accent for lapels, collars, or accessories without being overpowering.

Q: How does it fasten?
A: It features a pin closure at the back, typical of vintage Chanel brooches. Ideally suited for structured fabrics like wool or denim, please handle with care if pinning to delicate materials to avoid snagging.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect?
A: Vintage Chanel costume jewellery typically bears an oval hallmark plate on the reverse, indicating the season and country of origin (usually Made in France or Italy). Please refer to our listing images to view the specific stamps present on this piece.

Q: Can I wear this on a bag or scarf?
A: Yes, this brooch is excellent for customising accessories. It can be pinned to a canvas handbag, a hat, or a scarf. If attaching to thinner fabrics, we recommend using a small piece of felt or a backing disc on the inside to stabilise the pin and protect the material.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Vintage fashion jewellery often contains base metal alloys that may include nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend pinning it to clothing where it will not touch the skin directly. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the enamel and gold‑tone finish?
A: To preserve the bright yellow enamel and gold plating, keep the brooch dry and away from perfume, hairspray, and lotions. After wear, wipe it gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Store it inside its box or a soft pouch to prevent scratches or chips to the enamel.

Q: What condition should I expect and what is included?
A: This brooch is in Very Good Condition, meaning it has been well‑cared for but may show light signs of wear consistent with its vintage nature. This listing includes a box. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility and conditions.
