Q: Are these Chanel Clip-on Hoop Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid gold?
A: Chanel costume jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal. This pair is described as gold‑toned hammered metal with a round drop design featuring the CC logo. It is not solid gold unless explicitly stated.

Q: What are the measurements and how will they sit on the ear?
A: They are listed at approximately 6.2 cm (height) x 3.8 cm (width) x 1.0 cm (depth). As a statement drop hoop, they sit below the lobe with noticeable movement and shine. If you’d like the precise gram weight or a photo on model for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: How do they fasten and are clip‑ons comfortable?
A: They feature a clip‑on fastening. Comfort can be improved by adding soft silicone pads or cushion discs and by ensuring the clip tension is correctly adjusted. Avoid prolonged wear if you feel pressure; small comfort accessories can make a big difference.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Do they contain nickel?
A: Fashion/costume jewellery may contain base‑metal alloys that can include nickel. If you have sensitivities, use silicone pads or a clear barrier product on contact points, limit wear time, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. We’re happy to advise further.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on vintage Chanel earrings?
A: Vintage Chanel earrings commonly bear an oval or round signature plaque or engraving with CHANEL, often “Made in France/Italy”, and sometimes season codes around the CC logo. Placement and format vary by era. This listing notes France; our photos show any stamps present.

Q: How should I care for and clean gold‑tone Chanel costume jewellery?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips, as these can damage plating and adhesives. Store individually in a pouch/box, away from humidity and friction.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to pierced?
A: Many designs can be professionally converted by a competent jeweller (e.g., adding posts). We don’t offer in‑house modifications; contact us for reputable specialists. Note that alterations may affect originality and resale value.

Q: Will they feel heavy or pull on the ear?
A: Statement drop hoops of this size can have a noticeable presence. Comfort is individual; using silicone pads and wearing them in shorter intervals helps minimise pressure. If you’d like the exact gram weight, let us know and we’ll measure it.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Good Condition with light vintage wear possible unless stated otherwise. Accessories are not included unless specifically shown or listed—this item comes with no accessories. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
