Q: What are the measurements and how will they look when worn?
A: These have an approximate drop of 8 cm and a width of 2.5 cm, as listed under Measurements. The long dangling letter charms give a chic, elongating effect with noticeable movement. If you would like an on‑ear photo or exact gram weight, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Q: How do they fasten and are they suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: They are clip‑on earrings designed for non‑pierced ears. For comfort and a secure hold, you can add clear cushion pads to the clips and make tiny tension adjustments if needed (see the question below on adjusting).

Q: Are they heavy and comfortable for long wear?
A: At 8 cm long they have some swing and presence. Clip‑ons naturally apply pressure; using silicone/foam pads and taking short breaks can improve comfort. If you have very sensitive lobes, we recommend limiting wear time or adding lobe‑support patches for longer events.

Q: What are they made from? Are they real gold?
A: Chanel fashion jewellery is typically crafted in gold‑tone plated metal rather than solid gold. These earrings feature a gold‑tone finish. Plated finishes can show light surface wear over time, which is normal for vintage pieces.

Q: How should I care for and clean Chanel costume jewellery?
A: Keep them dry and avoid contact with water, soap, perfume, hairspray and other chemicals. After wearing, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store each piece separately in a pouch or box away from humidity and direct sunlight. Do not use chemical dips or ultrasonic cleaners.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or discolour?
A: Plated metal can dull or oxidise with exposure to moisture, sweat or products. Prevent this by letting lotions/perfume dry before putting them on, wiping them after wear, and storing them in a cool, dry place. Minor dullness often improves with a gentle dry polish using a soft cloth.

Q: Can I adjust the clip tension if they feel too tight or loose?
A: Many clip mechanisms allow tiny adjustments. For hinge‑style clips, you can carefully squeeze or slightly open the clip to change tension; some styles have a small screw for micro‑adjustment. Make only very small changes and test frequently to avoid damaging the hinge. If unsure, ask a jeweller to adjust and add comfort pads.

Q: Can they be converted for pierced ears?
A: Some jewellers can add posts, but any permanent modification may reduce collectability and resale value and can’t always be reversed. We generally recommend keeping vintage Chanel earrings in their original clip‑on configuration and using comfort pads if you prefer a lighter feel.

Q: How are vintage Chanel earrings signed and authenticated?
A: Most vintage Chanel earrings carry a signature plaque or stamp on the back with CHANEL and either Made in France or Made in Italy; many pieces from the late 1980s onward include a small oval plate with a two‑digit year and a season letter (for example 01C). Stamp styles vary by era, and some older pieces can differ. Our team authenticates every item through multi‑point checks of stamps, construction and materials; close‑up photos of any signatures are provided in the images on this page.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the earrings is listed in the product information section on this page. If an item isn’t listed there, it is not included—please reach out if you’d like us to confirm what’s inside the parcel.
