Q: What is this necklace made from?
A: It is crafted in gold‑tone plated metal with crystal rhinestones set into the CD logo motifs. Dior fashion jewellery of this type is not solid gold; the luxurious look comes from a gold‑finish over a base metal.

Q: What is the fit and is it adjustable?
A: Many Dior CD chain and choker styles are adjustable and designed to sit close to the neck. Exact length can vary by model; please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us and we will be happy to confirm the current length for this piece.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Fashion jewellery is typically plated over an alloy base and may contain trace metals such as nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend avoiding prolonged moisture, wearing the piece for shorter intervals, or using a clear jewellery barrier on contact points. If you require a fully nickel‑free option, consider solid precious‑metal jewellery instead.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower or while swimming?
A: We recommend removing before showering, swimming, or exercising. Water itself is less of a concern than soaps, perfumes, chlorine, salt, and sweat, which can dull the finish and weaken rhinestone settings over time.

Q: How should I clean and care for the rhinestones and metal finish?
A: Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners. Gently brush dust away with a soft, dry brush, then wipe the metal lightly with a barely damp, lint‑free cloth, keeping moisture away from the backs of the stones. Dry thoroughly. Store in a soft pouch, away from direct sunlight, humidity, and abrasive items.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or wear?
A: Plated finishes can show light wear with friction and exposure to products. Wipe after each use, avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions, and hand sanitiser, and store separately to minimise micro‑scratches and prolong the shine.

Q: A stone is missing—can it be replaced?
A: In most cases, yes. Many jewellers and specialist workshops can source vintage‑style rhinestones and reset them. Colour and cut matching may not be exact on older pieces, so a professional evaluation is recommended.

Q: How do you authenticate this Dior necklace?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, and period‑correct signatures. Dior jewellery commonly features signature plaques or clasp stamps; we also assess overall workmanship and compare with known originals. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If items such as a branded box or care booklet are not listed there, they are not included—please contact us if you would like us to confirm.
