Q: Is this Chanel CC Tassel Camera Bag considered vintage and what does the serial number indicate? A: Yes. The serial number 3180657 corresponds to the 3‑series, placing production circa 1994–1996. Please note that a serial number helps date a piece but does not alone guarantee authenticity; our team assesses multiple details.

Q: What are the dimensions and how does it wear on the body? A: Approx. 22 × 18 × 7 cm with a strap drop of about 50 cm. It sits comfortably as a shoulder bag and, depending on height and preference, can work as a short crossbody.

Q: What typically fits inside? A: A large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, and small daily essentials like lipstick or earbuds. Due to its height, it will not accommodate an iPad mini or A5 notebook.

Q: Is the hardware real gold‑plated? A: Many Chanel bags from the 1990s era were made with 24‑carat gold‑plated hardware. This example is described as gold‑tone with light scratches in the product information; plating can vary by piece and year.

Q: Is the strap adjustable or removable? A: The chain‑and‑leather strap is a fixed length and not designed to be adjusted or detached. Alterations are not recommended as they may compromise the bag.

Q: How should I care for the beige suede exterior? A: Keep it away from rain and humid conditions, use a suede‑specific protector before first use and periodically thereafter, and avoid contact with dark denim or heavily dyed garments to minimise colour transfer. Brush gently with a suede brush to lift the nap, and store stuffed in a breathable dust bag with the chain tucked to prevent imprints. Avoid leather conditioners, baby wipes, and harsh cleaners; for significant stains, consult a professional suede specialist.

Q: Any tips for looking after the tassel and zip? A: Keep the tassel tucked when storing to prevent fraying or curling, avoid pulling the tassel to open or close the zip (guide the zipper pull instead), and keep it clear of rough surfaces that could snag the leather.

Q: What is included with this item? A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. For this bag, the serial number sticker is present. If an item such as a dust bag or authenticity card is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag? A: Every piece is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps and logos, hardware, and serial details for the era. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and are happy to share additional photos or details on request.
