Q: How does this necklace fit and where does it sit on the neck?
A: The perimeter is approximately 41 cm (about 16.1 inches), which typically sits at the base of the neck like a short necklace or choker on most wearers. For the best fit, measure your neck and allow a little ease for comfort and layering.

Q: Can I adjust the length?
A: This piece closes with a lobster clasp. You may be able to fasten the clasp to a different link for a small adjustment. For more range, a separate extender chain can be used if desired (not included).

Q: What is it made from?
A: It is a vintage Christian Dior costume jewellery piece with gold‑plated metal and a curb‑chain design, finished with a lobster clasp. The base metal is unspecified, as is common for vintage fashion jewellery.

Q: Will the gold plating wear or tarnish over time?
A: All gold‑plated jewellery can show wear with use. To keep the finish looking its best, follow “last on, first off”, avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions, chlorine and saltwater, store it separately in a soft pouch, and gently buff with a soft, lint‑free cloth after wear.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin or nickel allergies?
A: Vintage costume jewellery may contain nickel or other alloys. If you are sensitive, limit prolonged skin contact, keep the skin dry under the piece, and discontinue wear if irritation occurs. Choosing nickel‑controlled or nickel‑free options is advisable for known sensitivities.

Q: How should I clean it?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry, non‑abrasive cloth. If needed, use a barely damp cloth with a little mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive polishes, chemical cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners and long soaking, as these can damage the plating.

Q: Can it be replated in the future?
A: Yes—most gold‑plated jewellery can be professionally replated. A skilled jeweller can restore the colour and shine, though results vary by base metal and it may subtly change the original vintage patina.

Q: What is the condition of this piece?
A: Very Good Condition. The hardware is shiny with light scratches consistent with gentle wear. Please review the photos for close‑ups of the finish.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: No additional items are included. Everything that comes with the item is listed in the product information section and shown in the photos.

Q: How do you authenticate Dior jewellery?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction and markings. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
