Q: Is this Christian Dior CD Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: This necklace is a piece of vintage fashion jewellery crafted from gold‑toned metal. It is not solid gold. The design features a classic rope chain and the iconic CD logo pendant. Please review the close‑up photos and features, and contact us if you’d like confirmation on any aspect of the composition.

Q: What are the measurements and how does it fit?
A: The necklace has a listed perimeter of approximately 45 cm, which is often adjustable. The CD pendant measures about 1.5 cm in height and width. At this length, it typically sits comfortably around the collarbone or upper chest.

Q: How does it fasten?
A: It uses a lobster clasp closure, a standard and secure mechanism for this style. Please refer to the close‑up images to see the exact clasp and any extender chain details on this specific piece.

Q: What hallmarks should I look for?
A: Vintage Christian Dior necklaces are usually stamped with “Chr.Dior©”, “Christian Dior”, or “Germany” on the clasp, the back of the pendant, or a hangtag on the extender. Our listing photos demonstrate any hallmarks present on this item.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Vintage fashion jewellery alloys may contain nickel. If you have known sensitivities to non‑precious metals, we suggest testing it for short periods or wearing it over high necklines. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑toned finish?
A: Keep the necklace dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and cleaning chemicals. After wear, wipe it gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Store it individually in a pouch or box to prevent the chain from tangling or scratching the pendant.

Q: Can the plating be restored or the chain extended?
A: A jeweller can often add a generic chain extender for length or perform gentle replating if the gold tone fades. We do not provide these services in‑house; please consult a specialist if restoration is desired, noting that alterations can affect resale value.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This necklace is in Very Good Condition with light signs of vintage wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
