Louis VuittonMonogram Macassar Keepall Bandoulière 45 Weekend Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Louis Vuitton Monogram Macassar Keepall Bandoulière 45?
A: With approximate measurements of 47 x 27 x 21 cm, this size is ideal for a short trip or overnight stay. It will usually hold a couple of outfits, toiletries, a pair of shoes, and smaller essentials such as chargers, a book, or a tablet. Capacity will vary depending on how you pack.

Q: Is the Keepall 45 generally suitable as cabin baggage?
A: Yes, the Keepall 45 is generally considered a cabin-friendly size and is one of the most popular Keepall sizes for short-haul and weekend travel. Airline rules can differ by carrier, route, and ticket type, so it is always best to check your airline’s current cabin baggage allowance before flying.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This item includes a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap, so it can be carried by hand or over the shoulder. The listed strap drop is approximately 55 cm, and the bag also has dual rolled handles with an approximate handle drop of 12 cm.

Q: What is Monogram Macassar?
A: Monogram Macassar is Louis Vuitton’s classic brown Monogram canvas paired with black leather trim and silver-tone hardware. It gives the Keepall a more modern, understated look than versions with natural leather trim, while still keeping the recognisable Louis Vuitton travel aesthetic.

Q: What does the date code DU4111 indicate?
A: In Louis Vuitton’s date code system, DU indicates production in France, and 4111 corresponds to the 41st week of 2011. Date codes are useful production references, but they are not unique serial numbers and should be considered alongside other authenticity checks.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece includes a detachable shoulder strap, a luggage tag, and a padlock. Everything included with the bag should be considered exactly as listed in the product information and shown in the photos.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This bag is listed in good condition. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, while the hardware has scratches and tarnish. As this is a vintage pre-owned item, small signs of age and wear are normal, so the photos should be reviewed closely for the most accurate impression.

Q: How should I care for vintage Monogram Macassar canvas and leather?
A: Wipe the bag gently with a soft dry cloth, or with a slightly damp cloth for light surface marks. Avoid over-packing, commercial cleaners, oils, perfume, sanitiser, excessive moisture, and prolonged heat or direct sunlight. When not in use, store it in a breathable environment to help preserve its shape and finish.

Q: Is this bag mainly for travel, or can it be used day to day?
A: The Keepall Bandoulière 45 is primarily designed as a soft travel or weekend bag, but many people also use this size for the gym, work trips, or overnight stays. The Bandoulière version is especially practical because the shoulder strap makes it easier to carry than the classic handheld Keepall.
