Q: What typically fits inside the Prada Denim Canapa Tote (Medium)?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 × 25 × 15 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, phone, keys, cosmetics pouch, small water bottle, compact umbrella, A4 documents, and a slim 13-inch laptop or tablet. Interior pockets help keep smaller items organised.

Q: Can it hold a 13-inch laptop?
A: Yes, most 13-inch laptops fit based on the bag’s width and height. There is no padded laptop compartment, so we recommend a slim protective sleeve and placing the laptop vertically or along the back panel for comfort.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap and can it be worn crossbody?
A: This piece includes a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. The measured drop on this item is around 35 cm; this is ideal for shoulder wear. Crossbody wear may be possible depending on your height and preferred drop—contact us if you would like us to measure the maximum setting for you.

Q: How secure is the opening?
A: The tote has an open top with side snap closures. For valuables, we recommend using the interior zip pocket or a small pouch. When travelling or on public transport, keep the bag closed with the snaps and carry it in front of you.

Q: Is the Canapa structured and does it soften with use?
A: The Canapa is known for its structured, boxy silhouette in sturdy denim/canvas. It will naturally soften slightly with wear, but retains its shape well if stored stuffed and not overloaded at the edges or base.

Q: Is denim prone to fading or colour transfer?
A: Denim can fade over time, especially with sunlight and friction. Light garments may pick up colour from darker denim, and dark denim clothing can also transfer onto lighter bags. Avoid prolonged rubbing against contrasting fabrics and keep the bag away from strong light and moisture to minimise transfer and fading.

Q: How should I clean and care for the denim and hardware?
A: Wipe the bag regularly with a dry, soft cloth. For light marks on the denim, spot clean gently with a barely damp cloth and a tiny amount of mild soap, then blot dry—always test on an inconspicuous area first. Avoid harsh chemicals, soaking, or machine washing. For hardware, use a clean microfibre cloth only. Store loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from heat and direct sunlight.

Q: What are the interior features?
A: It has a black logo-jacquard lining with practical pockets to organise essentials. The structured base makes packing easy while the side snaps let you slightly expand or streamline the opening.

Q: How do you authenticate this Prada Canapa tote?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in-house experts using a multi-point process. Typical Prada markers include the quality of materials and stitching, the enameled triangle logo and branded hardware, the Prada logo-jacquard lining and interior plaque, and factory/quality tags where present. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This tote comes with its detachable shoulder strap. Everything included is listed under Accessories on this page; if something isn’t listed (for example, dust bag or authenticity card), it is not included—feel free to ask us to confirm.
