Q: What typically fits inside the Prada Tessuto Saffiano Stitch Tote (approx. 20 × 30 × 14 cm)?
A: It comfortably holds daily essentials: a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, cosmetics pouch and an A5 diary. A standard tablet (e.g., iPad Air/11-inch) generally fits when placed horizontally without a bulky case; A4 documents (29.7 × 21 cm) do not lie flat due to the 20 cm height. A 500 ml water bottle fits best laid horizontally. If you’d like a tailored fit check for this exact piece, just ask and we’ll test it for you.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and is the strap adjustable?
A: Yes—this piece includes a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate 60 cm drop for shoulder or high crossbody wear. The dual rolled handles have an approx. 13 cm drop for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the exact drops.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: This tote features zip closures for everyday security and a red jacquard‑lined interior arranged into three compartments plus an internal pocket, helping you keep essentials organised. Protective base studs help the bag stand and reduce wear when set down.

Q: What are Tessuto nylon and Saffiano leather, and what are the benefits?
A: Tessuto is Prada’s robust, twill‑like nylon noted for being durable and water‑resistant, ideal for lightness and daily use. Saffiano is a cross‑hatch‑embossed leather originally made famous by Prada; its textured, waxed finish is known for excellent scratch and stain resistance and a refined sheen. Together they offer a practical, hard‑wearing yet polished finish for everyday carry.

Q: Is Prada’s nylon waterproof?
A: It’s water‑resistant rather than fully waterproof. Light rain or splashes are typically fine, but we recommend avoiding heavy downpours. If the bag gets wet, blot (don’t rub) with a soft cloth and allow it to air‑dry away from heat sources.

Q: How should I clean the Tessuto nylon and care for the Saffiano leather trim?
A: For nylon: wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a tiny amount of mild soap for spot‑cleaning; avoid soaking and harsh chemicals. For Saffiano leather: dust with a soft, dry cloth; if needed, use a high‑quality neutral leather product very sparingly after testing on a discreet area. Keep away from oils, alcohol‑based cleaners and prolonged sunlight. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid pressure marks by padding hardware/handles during storage.

Q: Where are the Prada brand markings and codes typically found?
A: Authentic Prada bags usually feature an exterior enamel triangle logo (on many styles) and an interior metal plaque or heat‑stamp reading “Prada Made in Italy.” Many lined styles use a jacquard logo lining with the rope motif and PRADA repeated throughout. You’ll often find a small white quality‑assurance tag with a number hidden in a seam or pocket (a factory code). Original retail purchases may come with an authenticity card. Placement and details can vary by era and model—ask us if you’d like close‑up photos of this piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, including inspection of materials (Tessuto/Saffiano), stitching, hardware engravings, interior stamps/plaques, jacquard lining, factory/QA tag and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.

Q: Is the bag heavy to carry?
A: No—Tessuto nylon keeps the bag lightweight compared with full‑leather totes, while the Saffiano leather trim adds structure and durability. If you’re sensitive to weight, we’re happy to provide an exact scale weight for this specific item on request.

Q: What accessories are included with this listing?
A: This piece includes a detachable shoulder strap as listed under “Accessories.” If an accessory isn’t mentioned there (e.g., dust bag, box or cards), it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm for you.

Q: Can the bag be professionally cleaned or repaired if needed?
A: Yes—reputable luxury leather specialists can clean Tessuto nylon, refresh Saffiano leather and address common issues (edge wear, hardware polishing, zip repair). If you’d like, we can recommend experienced third‑party specialists and advise how to prepare for an assessment. Availability of specific branded parts can vary by model and era.
