Q: Are these Saint Laurent Rhinestone Clip-on Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials are they made from? Are they real gold?
A: These vintage earrings are fashioned from gold‑tone metal (typically a plated base alloy, such as brass) and embellished with multicoloured rhinestones (glass or crystal). They are not solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos for material details and contact us if you’d like further confirmation.

Q: What are the measurements? Are they heavy?
A: They measure approximately 4.5 cm (height) x 3.2 cm (width). As a statement vintage piece with a twisted hoop design, they may have a substantial feel compared to delicate studs. If you would like the exact gram weight, please message us.

Q: How do they fasten? Are they comfortable?
A: They feature a clip‑on closure, making them suitable for both pierced and non‑pierced ears. Vintage clips are generally secure; if you find them tight or require extra comfort, you can easily add soft rubber cushion pads (available from many haberdasheries or jewellers).

Q: What hallmarks should I look for?
A: Vintage Saint Laurent jewellery typically bears the “YSL” signature or “Saint Laurent Rive Gauche”, often with “Made in France”. The stamps are usually located on the reverse of the clip or the earring body. Our photos show any hallmarks present on this specific pair.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Do they contain nickel?
A: Vintage costume jewellery alloys often contain nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend testing them for short periods or using a clear barrier product on the clips. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and gold‑tone finish?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, and water, as moisture can damage the foil backing of the rhinestones and dull the plating. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Store them separately in a pouch or box to prevent scratching and stone loss.

Q: What condition are they in and what is included?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition (Ref: 353326). Vintage items may show light signs of wear consistent with age. No accessories are included. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
