Q: What are the dimensions of this brooch?
A: Approximately 5 × 2.5 × 0.3 cm. It is a one‑size accessory and sits comfortably on most lapels, scarves and knitwear.

Q: How does it fasten and will it stay secure?
A: It features a traditional pin‑back closure. For best hold, fasten it through medium‑to‑heavy fabrics such as blazer or coat lapels. On lighter fabrics, you can add a small piece of felt on the inside of the garment or use a buttonhole to stabilise the pin.

Q: Where and how can I style it?
A: This YSL Cassandre logo brooch works beautifully on a coat or blazer lapel, at the shoulder of a jumper or dress, to secure a scarf, on a beret or hat band, or on the strap or pocket of a handbag. You can wear it solo as a statement or cluster it with smaller pins for a curated look.

Q: Will a brooch damage delicate fabrics?
A: Pins can leave small holes or cause pulls in delicate materials like silk, chiffon and fine knits. To protect these, pin through sturdier seams or buttonholes, or place a thin backing (like felt) behind the fabric. Avoid pinning through open‑weave knits where the pin might snag.

Q: Is this brooch unisex?
A: Yes. Brooches are a gender‑inclusive accessory. This clean, graphic YSL logo suits lapels on tailoring, outerwear and accessories for any wearer.

Q: How should I clean and care for the rhinestones and gold‑tone finish?
A: Keep the piece dry and avoid contact with water, perfume, hairspray and lotions. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can dull rhinestones (especially foil‑backed stones) and affect adhesives. Store it separately in a soft pouch or box with the pin closed to prevent scratches.

Q: Can missing stones be replaced if needed?
A: In most cases yes. A professional jeweller or vintage costume‑jewellery restorer can source matching rhinestones and reset them securely. We recommend professional repair to preserve the finish and protect surrounding stones.

Q: Is this piece authentic?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts. For Saint Laurent jewellery we examine materials, construction, pin mechanism, and crisp, well‑finished logo engravings and hallmarks consistent with the brand’s standards. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The listing states no accessories are included. If an item such as a box or dust pouch is not listed under Accessories, it is not part of this sale.

Q: Is it suitable for everyday wear?
A: This is a quality costume‑jewellery piece in Very Good pre‑loved condition with light signs of use and minor surface scratches on hardware. With sensible care and by avoiding heavy snagging or moisture, it can be enjoyed regularly while maintaining its sparkle.
