Q: What are these earrings made of, and what hallmarks should I expect?
A: They are crafted in sterling silver (925). Authentic Tiffany pieces typically carry hallmarks such as “Tiffany & Co.” and a metal fineness mark like “925”. Hallmark placement and appearance can vary by country and era.

Q: What is the size and how do they sit on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 1 × 1 cm with a low profile of about 0.2 cm, so they sit close to the earlobe as classic stud earrings and are comfortable for everyday wear.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Only the earrings themselves. Everything included is listed in the product information section; branded boxes, pouches or papers are not included unless stated. For this pair, no additional items are included.

Q: Do they come with butterfly backs, and can I buy replacements?
A: If shown in the photos, matching butterfly backs are included. Should you need replacements, Tiffany can supply earring backs through their client care service; standard sterling silver backs also fit most stud posts, but for a perfect match we recommend sourcing directly from Tiffany.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, pool or at the gym?
A: Tiffany advises removing jewellery before showering or bathing, swimming in pools, hot tubs or the ocean, doing household chores, exercising, or applying lotions, hair products and perfumes, as moisture and chemicals can accelerate tarnish and dull the finish.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish, and how should I clean them?
A: Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, especially with exposure to air, humidity and chemicals. Clean with a small amount of silver cleaner on a soft cloth, rub gently, then rinse in warm water and dry thoroughly. Store completely dry in a soft anti‑tarnish pouch and avoid chlorine and bleach.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears?
A: Sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed mainly with other metals (commonly copper) and is often well tolerated by those with nickel sensitivity, though individual reactions vary. If your skin is highly sensitive, metals such as platinum, high‑karat gold, titanium or niobium are typically recommended. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs and consult a professional if needed.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage pair?
A: Very good vintage condition with a bright shine and light surface scratches consistent with gentle wear. Please review the photos for close‑up detail.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate Tiffany jewellery?
A: Every piece is examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, craftsmanship, hallmarks and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and can provide further details on request.
