Q: What are the measurements of this earring?
A: The approximate measurements are 5 × 2 × 0.7 cm. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for confirmation.

Q: Is it comfortable to wear clip-on earrings for several hours?
A: Comfort depends on fit and ear sensitivity. For longer wear, position the clip squarely on the soft centre of the lobe, add silicone comfort pads, and take short breaks. A jeweller can fine‑tune clip tension if needed.

Q: Will clip-on earrings stay secure while moving?
A: Yes, when fitted correctly. Ensure the hinge closes fully, keep the contact point free of oils or lotions, and consider silicone grip pads for extra hold. A jeweller can slightly adjust the clip if it feels loose.

Q: Are these heavy on the ear?
A: As a statement dangle style, they have presence. Comfort varies by lobe thickness and sensitivity; comfort pads and shorter wear intervals can help if your ears are sensitive.

Q: Are they solid gold or gold-tone?
A: This is a gold‑tone fashion jewellery piece. Versace fashion jewellery is commonly crafted from base metal (often brass) with a gold‑tone finish rather than solid gold. As a vintage item, exact composition may vary by era.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Versace states its jewellery is lead‑ and nickel‑free and hypoallergenic. However, vintage compositions can differ by collection and year. If you have sensitivities, we recommend using comfort pads, limiting wear time initially, and contacting us if you need material confirmation.

Q: How should I care for gold‑tone plated jewellery?
A: Avoid water, perfume, hairspray and lotions; remove before bathing or exercising. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and store individually in a soft pouch. If needed, use a little mild soap in lukewarm water, rinse briefly and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths and metal polishes that can strip plating.

Q: Can a clip-on be converted to a pierced earring?
A: Many designs can be converted by a professional jeweller, but modifications may affect the plating, finish and potential resale value. If you prefer not to alter a vintage piece, temporary converters are an option.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section on this page. If a branded box, pouch or extra comfort pads are not listed there, they are not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in‑house experts. We check materials, construction, stamps and logos (such as the Medusa and Greca details) and cross‑reference with brand standards. We stand behind the authenticity of every product we sell.
