Q: What typically fits inside this Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 40 x 27 x 16 cm, it is a practical everyday tote that should comfortably hold a long wallet, phone, sunglasses case, small cosmetic pouch, water bottle and a notebook or A4 papers. A slim tablet should fit easily, and some compact laptops may fit depending on their exact size and sleeve, so we recommend comparing your item to the listed measurements before purchase.

Q: Can it be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This bag has dual flat shoulder straps with an approximate handle drop of 15 cm, and the listing notes the handle as adjustable. Shoulder fit can vary slightly depending on what you are wearing and your preferred carry style.

Q: What is Intrecciato?
A: Intrecciato is Bottega Veneta’s signature woven leather technique and one of the house’s most recognisable design codes. It gives the bag a refined, understated look without prominent logos and is especially loved for its artisanal feel.

Q: What materials and colour does this bag have?
A: This piece features brown Intrecciato leather on the exterior and a beige suede lining inside. It was made in Italy and has one internal zipped pocket for smaller essentials.

Q: How many compartments or pockets does it have?
A: This tote has a roomy main compartment and one internal zipped pocket, which is useful for keeping smaller valuables organised and easier to find.

Q: What condition is this vintage bag in?
A: It is listed in good vintage condition. The exterior shows visible wear and scuffing on the corners, there is wear on the handles, the lining has a pen mark and stains, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. We recommend reviewing all photos carefully for the most accurate impression.

Q: What is included with the bag?
A: This item comes with a dust bag. Everything included is listed in the product information on this page, so if a box or authenticity card is not mentioned there, it is not included with this piece.

Q: How should I care for Intrecciato leather and the suede lining?
A: Store the bag away from direct light, heat and rain, and avoid contact with oils, make-up, perfume and abrasive surfaces. If it becomes damp, dry it promptly with a soft cloth. To help maintain the shape, store it lightly stuffed in its dust bag and avoid overfilling it. Because the lining is suede, it is best to treat marks gently and use a specialist cleaner for stubborn stains.

Q: Is wear on the corners and handles normal for a vintage Bottega Veneta tote?
A: Yes. On pre-owned woven leather totes, the corners and handles are common friction points and often show wear first. The visible corner scuffing and handle wear noted on this bag are consistent with age and use and should be expected in a vintage piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by in-house experts using checks of materials, weave, stitching, hardware, stamps and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell and are happy to answer product-specific questions before purchase.
